“Comfortable, clean, safe, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Was a bit nervous when we first walked there as the street its on feels out of the way and a bit rough. However, hotel is modern, safe and well maintained.
It's in a convenient location with Tesco nearby and a few streets from the main street with shops.
Rooms clean and has a good bathroom.
No bad points noted. Has free coffee in reception area too.

Hi May2013_13, thanks for choosing us and for your kind review. Let me reassure you that Seel Street is a very safe street despite the quirky and funky look, also voted 3rd Hippest Street in the UK on Google Streetviews last year. We are very happy to see that you had a great stay with us and enjoyed all our facilities. All the best and see you soon.

I had cancelled my reservation at the Days inn to stay here and didn't have to pay much more for the switch. I made this change because it was ranked so highly. I learned that the Days Inn was actually in a busy area. This hotel is a very nice hotel, with very nice people working there, and a nice lobby with complimentary coffee and free access to the desktop computers. Of course most everyone used the wifi anyway, but not us. They were very accomodating. I can't imagine why the hotel would be ranked number one. It is a very nice hotel but not a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was at best okay. You don't get a nice English breakfast here! It was a short walk to the train stations and about a 15 minute walk to Albert Dock. That was actually the place to be. I will say that the hotel was very peaceful. We had a great night of sleep despite the fact that there are a couple of clubs two blocks away. You don't here any noise at all. Outside the hotel on Seel Street is nothing to look at and nowhere to sit. So, in all, the hotel is a very nice hotel but I actually expected it to be even nicer based on its ranking.

Hi Europeantraveler and thanks for your feedback. I am happy to see that you had a great time, but disappointed to read that we didn’t meet your expectations. Albert Dock is a great place to stay although most people are even happier to stay around the Rope Walks area and Liverpool One as it is the most centrally located area of Liverpool, with plenty of things to in the area. Our website explains our unique concept, with mini kitchens in each room, breakfast delivery or discounts at many of the restaurants and cafes that surround us instead of the usual, often under used hotel restaurant, as part of social sustainability within the local community, which is one of the main cornerstones of our concept and ethos. Our beautifully renovated 19th century industrial building is typical Seel Street’s character, so we hope you will return and allow our front desk team to guide you round all the interesting places there are to visit in the RopeWalks.

split level room over £100, not worth the money as pretty basic. Room wasnt ready at 2pm when we got there, and the directions on the site send you round the houses when parking is only round the corner. Reception not particularly friendly

Hi Joanne, we always receive very good feedback about our Gallery rooms, which are unique, so I am disappointed to read your review. With 5 meter high ceilings, floor to ceiling electric curtains, and large LED TVs in both the lounge area and the upper sleeping gallery, most guests find these rooms quite dramatic. For the amount of space, the general feedback is that these rooms offer amazing value. I am also surprised to read that you didn’t find our reception staff friendly as they are one of our greatest assets, and offer an unrivalled Liverpool welcome. We value the opinion of our guests and our General Manager has already contacted you to find out more about your stay with us. For directions to our hotel, we will review the ‘find us’ page on our website to ensure it is clear and simple, despite Liverpool City Centre’s one-way street system.

Convenient location and simply sophisticated rooms.
Staff were helpful and professional and did not make a fuss when we were late checking out. Staff made recommendations about where to eat with many suggestions offering discounts due to their working relationship.

room was large, clean and bed was comfortable. The bath/wet room was huge and again the standard of cleanliness was exceptional.

I would highly recommend and definately stay there again!

We liked very much our room. We stayed for one night with our teenage kids. The room was great for four, clean, minimalistic. The lobby area was confortable. You have lots of restaurants, and shopping in the area.

Great place to stay as a base for exploring the city. Very clean, sooo many staff around if you needed help. Very helpful Receptionists, always greeting you when you passed by. Very quiet at night, even being so close to pubs and clubs. Great little kitchenette area - what a good idea! We will definitely book with you again. Many thanks!
