Stayed in a king Standard room over the New Year Period and the room was very modern and spacious with:

On the first night, me and my partner encountered problem which was very quickly rectified by the night manager Peter. His service has an absolute credit to the hotel and the rest of the staff were faultless over our 4 night stay . It is inevitable that you will encounter problems at some stage when you stay at hotels but is how you deal those problems that is critical and the most important thing.
Overall I will definitely stay here again and recommend to others. Believe the hype

Stayed there for one night this week for work and the staff could not have been more helpful, ordering a cab, looking after a suitcase and ensuring I knew my way around Liverpool. The facilities are fantastic and it really is excellent value. I am due to return this week for another night and I am actually looking forward to returning.

Took my girlfriend to Liverpool over New Years to experience 'da Pool's' great atmosphere. The hotel's location was great, super central. The room was roomy and felt like an apartment, which is what we were looking for. I decided to splash out on the Deluxe King room but the feel was definitely not a deluxe premium. Our bed was two single beds pushed together and you could clearly feel the gap in between the beds. This studenty feel continued with the breakfast. We stayed for 3 nights and EVERY morning our breakfast box contained a small box of Frosties. This seemed cheap and kind of weird......

Overall it was fine but was let down by the bed and the breakfast.

We had a 3-night stay at Base2Stay and I can't thank them enough for the attention we got. We arrived on Boxing Day with my boyfriend who was under the weather, and both day and night staff made sure that we -specially him- was comfortable. Again, exceptional attention. I wanted to make this remark first because it was THAT good.

Now, on to the room, it was a very good suite, with a great comfy bed and extra pillows, and with everything necessary to eat in - the idea is that they are serviced apartments, after all. Everything was in good shape, well-kept, clean and modern, in black and white. Pretty much like what you see in the pictures. It was a very comfortable room overall, and we managed to try everything there since we stayed in most of the time we were there.

As for the location, the centre of Liverpool is quite small, and the hotel, even though is not in a central street itself (which is better for potential street noise) is VERY near everything you need to see in Liverpool.

Due to this inconvenience of the unexpected illness we were unable to tour around most of the attractions that we wanted to see, but definitely will stay there again when I come back to Liverpool to really visit this time. I would have loved to stay a couple more nights.
