“Cozy minimalistic surounding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2011

I chose this hotel because my friend recommended it and I wasn't disappointed at all. First of all, I really liked the location. It's in the center of Liverpool, so you can easily reach it from the train station, or docks, or every other central part.
The building itself is pretty nice, and the interior has this modern minimalistic and little bit artsy feeling. I got the impression hotel being really quite and nice place to stay. The rooms are very clean and cozy. There is a small "kitchen" where you can find some dishes, microwave and make some tea. The TV+internet+music collection is really great and useful. And free. And if you want to, you can rent a newest movies as well.
The "green" policy surprised me, and in my opinion is a wonderful idea.
Talking about stuff, they were really polite and helpful. I was pleased when they suggested to keep my luggage for a day when i checked out, so i could freely spend some time in the city.
So all in all it was a really pleasant stay and worth the money I payed. Thou it would be nice if they would provide some kind of breakfast :)

Room Tip: Very good location.

Hello Egle_Zemaityte,

Thank you for your great review of our hotel! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the location, the building and our facilities such as the mini-kitchen and free music and internet on TV, as well as our green ethos. Thanks also for your comments on our staff, who are always excited to hear what guests have to say.

One point I’d like to clarify is what we offer for breakfast (and I apologise if this wasn’t made clear to you at reception). Breakfast can be pre-ordered and delivered to your room when you choose. Lunya and Franklins each offer a great range breakfasts, and there are also well over a dozen cafes within a five minute walk of our hotel to choose from – details on our website. We also offer complimentary Nespresso coffee in our reception lounge and our vending machine has a range of cold drinks and snacks at high street prices. Thanks again for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

I stayed at base2stay with my lovely girlfriend last night and thought the whole hotel was absolutely brilliant for the money! It cost around £70 to stay the night and our room was located at the top of the hotel, with a very nice roof window and all the mod-cons!

The staff where genuinely welcoming and very friendly, the place was extremely clean and very well furnished! The location is ideal for those who wish to enjoy the nightlife as Cream is just up the road with Circus/Chibuku etc going on all night and plenty of Bars to choose from, the only downside is that if you are after a quiet get away then this hotel is not in the ideal location as it can be loud at night...

I was also very impressed with the discount vouchers we received for the local restaurants - we ate at Alma De Cuba and it was amazing!

Overall this is an Amazing Hotel Excellent Service, Location and Value! Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Bring your own wine and goodies as they are aloud

Was in a brilliant location, coulsnt have been better.
Got the bus from the airport, the 500. Get off at Liverpool One bus station and walk up Hanover st and then turn right at tescos and walk up. Hotel on Left.

Hotel is really clean and modern. Rooms are lovely and kept very clean.
Staff were very nice and very helpful.
Gave us discount vouchers for Lunya tapas restaurant and Il Forno, both were very nice.

I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend for my birthday in February - reviews were universally positive, hotel wasn't too expensive, a no-brainer really.
We booked a "large twin" - a large room with a bed that can be configured as two twin beds or one king-size. We asked for the bed to be king-size but on arrival discovered it wasn't. I phoned down to reception and a member of staff came up pretty much immediately to escort us to a new room. She was really apologetic but she didn't need to be - it wasn't that much of an inconvenience! Whilst escorting us she asked us about our dinner plans and recommended restaurants for which there was a discount for hotel guests - she was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly - sadly I can't remember her name but she was great. I don't mind if a hotel gets stuff like this wrong - it's how quickly and easily it's dealt with that really shows how good it is - and we were in a new room within 5 minutes!
The room was fantastic - huge comfy bed, big telly, really quiet, v clean.
Only complaint was the bath was a little bit on the small side, but that is a tiny complaint, the room was otherwise perfect. I loved that the toiletries are eco-friendly too.
Kitchen had a small fridge, microwave, sink and kettle which was convenient but I have to say we barely used them as Liverpool is great for eating out whatever your budget.
There was even an ice machine on our corridor - nice touch.
Hotel was fantastically located - right next to Liverpool One, but on a quiet side street.
We actually wanted to stay a further night as there was a concert on at the Philharmonic that we decided to see at the last minute - we asked at the desk if we could extend our stay but were informed the hotel was completely full for that night. The receptionist (I forget her name too, oops!) said she would organise us a room at another hotel within our budget at the last minute. She managed to find us a hotel, organised it all and printed off all of the information for us. She was great, very helpful and professional.

To summarise: it's a great hotel, great location, not too expensive, staff are great. Perfect for a place to rest your head on a shopping/sightseeing trip.

Arrived at the hotel (11am) having walked from Lime Street Station. Booking details were available at reception. Our room was being made ready (booking did say not to expect the room until 2pm). Receptionist marked our luggage, stowed it in a locked room and then answered our questions about a city sightseeing tour.
We returned at 4.30pm, deluxe room ready for us to occupy. Excellent room, very tastefully furnished, lovely shower/bathroom,free internet access via TV and the very useful kitchenette.
The hotel is ideally situated, within walking distance of Albert Docks, Chinatown, the Anglican & Catholic Cathedrals, Liverpool 1 shopping complex and The Cavern Club.
The hotel is modern, very clean with attentive and very polite staff.
I would recommend Base2Stay Liverpool without hesitation.
