“Well appointed hotel with friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

Booked to stay in the Hilton by the hotel as all the hotels in the town centre were either fully booked or very expensive.

Our triple room was clean, well furnished and the staff were always polite, friendly and helpful. The receptionist checked us in swiftly and also helped with arranging taxis etc, which was a nice touch given the cost of the stay was not much more then a travel lodge/ premier inn.

The complimentary breakfast was also nice. The only negative I'd say was that it was a little tricky to find our way in via the multi storey car park and that the breakfast area was very busy with queues on Saturday morning, but minor inconveniences on the whole.

Would whole heartedly recommend.

Ideal location for the airport; ideal rooms: very good friendly service; appalling food. The meals were microwaved, poor quality, and the menu sparse and dull. I stayed for four nights with colleagues on business and we struggled every night to have anything which was half edible. This is an ideal hotel if you want a snack then jet off somewhere if you are staying more than aday consider other hotels nearby because the food is dreadful.

I stayed here when Liverpool football team were playing and my god it was full. The place was heaving with Liverpool fans and it was good. The atmosphere was great. The staff are always busy, the rooms are very clean it is nicely designed for a airport hotel, it is modern and does the job

We recently visited friends in Allerton &, failing to find an hotel nearby, & not wishing to stay amidst the bustle of the city centre, we opted for Hampton by Hilton at the airport which was only a few miles away. The hotel is accessed via the top floor of the multi-storey car-park opposite the airport terminal. You just need to take a ticket & get it validated before you leave & the parking is free. We found the staff were friendly & helpful, the bedroom was large (11th floor), clean & comfortable, especially the bathroom which was very well-designed (see photos re toilet!). Breakfast was included in the room rate & was completely self-service (even the milk & yogurt in the fridge!) & was the usual basic & cooked fare but perfectly adequate. Find a free table in the lounge area & eat there as there's no breakfast room as such. Although the hotel was busy, there were no long waits for the lifts, which can often be a problem. All in all, we were very pleasantly surprised by the comfort of Hampton by Hilton & won't hesitate in staying there again & recommending it to others.

Stayed here last night before our early morning flight to Lanzarote...went down early afternoon..so we could go in to liverpool and do a spot of shopping and have a meal...will review that too..Jamie Oliver's Italian...anyway the room itself was spacious and spotless..it is pretty new...so not much wear and tear yet..not the best nights sleep...noisy air con...but if you switched it off you were too cold...and numerous interruptions throughout the night...of loud inconsiderate people going back to their rooms...after drinking in the bar...which brings me to finally giving up and getting up at 5am with the intention of having a quick bite..continental only though at that time....but we didn't bother due to the large numbers of people still drinking around and about in the bar...clearly the worse for wear...bit intimidating when you are stone cold sober...so we passed on that one...and went and had breakfast in the terminal instead...which was average...but hey...we included car parking for our weeks stay...your car stays on site...right outside the hotel reception...couldn't be more handy for going over to your terminal...straight out of the reception to the lift at the side...takes you down..and cross the road and you are there...easy...would I stay there again...yes I probably would...I certainly beats getting up at stupid o'clock and driving down...but...I think it's a bit of a lottery wether you would get a decent nights sleep or not...good value at £80 for eight nights secure parking and a room for two though...

Room Tip: Just to add....there was no aircraft noise

This is a very nice hotel. Reception staff were very helpfull and friendly. The bedroom and bathroom were top notch. The best room i've ever stopped in.
The bar lounge is divided by voils which gives it a nice feel. I arrived late (9pm on Sunday) the bar closed at 10pm. I needed a stiff drink after the ordeal of getting to the hotel.
BEWARE. When you come off the dual carriageway onto the two laned road towards the airport (one lane is for busses only) and all the other hotels keep your wits about you. The taxis come right up behind you to make you speed up (BREAKING THE LAW).
To get to the hilton you need to keep to the left hand side until you come to a round about. Take the first left and get in the middle lane sign posted multi storey car park .
DO NOT STOP AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. YOU WILL GET A £100 FINE AFTER 5 SECONDS. SECURITY GUARDS POUNCE ON YOU THREATENING TO FINE YOU.
You have to take a ticket from a machine(this is needed when you get to the hotel so keep it handy).Enter the car park and take a quick left. This is a spiral climb upto level 5. Carry on to the ticket barrier to get into the hotels car park. I had to go into the hotel twice because my ticket wouldn't lift the barrier. I ended up parking outside the barrier on the advice of the hotel.
On exiting the next day my ticket would not work. I drove back upto the hotel where they did something with my ticket. It still didn't work. I had to press the button for help. Two unfriendly men approached and checked my ticket for a while before walking off without saying anything. The barrier rose after a few minutes. The car park needs to train the staff they employ on customer service. My friend had the same problem exiting the long stay car park. Someone needs to sort out the carpark system.

This hotel has an unrivalled location for the airport, is really quiet despite this, has beautifully decorated common areas, and large clean bedrooms with really comfortable bed. It is the perfect recipe and is perfect if you want to stay near the airport.
