“Cheap but not so cheerful.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

My brother and I booked a family room so that I could have the bed and he could sleep on the sofa bed, and he made sure to request extra pillows and sheets for himself. We arrived to be greeted by a rather over familiar receptionist at a desk behind which was an open door showing the supply cupboard (in a state of disarray), not the best first impression. We were shown to the room, to discover that there were enough towels for one person, which seemed to have already been used by a woman to remove her make up. The extra sheets were once again requested and eventually brought.

On the upside, the sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable, and the location was convenient and quiet.

Upon checking out the key drop box was a friendly goodbye, the absence of any staff was reassuring.

Not worth the budget price.

The Aigburth travel lodge was clean and functional for a night out in liverpool. The toby carvery across the road was able to provide a meal before we went out and breakfast in the morning which were both cheap and good. The staff were very nice and gave us a warm welcome. I would use it again.

We have just returned from our second short break in Liverpool in 6 months. The Travelodge in Aigburth Road, Liverpool is ideally situated for a short break. Free parking and access to numerous buse into the City Centre made this a great base. The staff are helpful and pleasant - a credit to Travelodge. We will definitely be using this one again.

On Christmas day night the disabled room booked for my Mum ( in September) was not available as I think someone had left it in a mess the previous night. They did not phone to tell me or send me an email. She got an ground floor room but I worried that she did not have the grab rails or loo we were expecting.
When I turned both the lights on going into her room the fuse went which was annoying. Dont turn both the lights on at once! Also the bedside lamp did not work and though the staff tried to fix it could not be fixed.
My room did not appear to have been hoovered as there was someone elses kirby grip on the floor.
The show was nice and hot.
Rooms are a good size and I slept well when I stopped worrying that my Mum would have a fall and possibly die.
The rooms are very old fashioned with very odd carpet that suggested it was purchased n
Staff did what they could - and the problems were not their fault.
It was only £29 per room per night but we booked for an accessible room which was not delivered. I am going to ask for a refund.

Stayed for one night on Friday 30th November . Paid about £40 which was good value . Staff were very good and helpful . Parking is free on a first come first served basis , there was plenty of room the night we stayed . There is a pub restaurant next door and a couple of Indian restaurants across the road , city centre about three miles away . The rooms were ok , a decent size . Bit of noise from the road outside possibly but not to bad . As this is a budget type hotel it might get a bit noisy , especially at weekends , with people coming back from a night out in Liverpool . Overall would probably use again for a cheap nights stay in the City .

Room Tip: Back of hotel probably quieter .
