Generally a really pleasant experience , great location and good value. Reception check in was easy and friendly. The room (deluxe double) was of average size , clean , bright and well lit. It had an excellent and modernised bathroom although the shower was pretty useless as it had a broken showerhead (do staff check these things nowadays?!)
Although it promised wifi it didn't work and I couldn't be bothered hassling the staff.
My only real complaint was breakfast which although very tasty took ages to be served.
I'll be back and just allow longer for breakfast next time!!

Just returned from overnight at this hotel. Had a very nice stay, great location in the cathedral quarter -so near to everything, nice welcome ,great breakfast, very clean.

However the bed was really uncomfortable and shook and squeaked all night and every time my husband turned over I 'rolled down the hill'! Shame because otherwise a very homey comfortable place. I would return again but hope next time to get a more substantial comfortable bed.

We stayed at this hotel for one night on 30.12.06. We had upgraded to the traditional room, which I believe is slightly larger than the standard rooms
The room was lovely and quite spacious. However we were in what seemed like an attic conversion with sky light windows, so we had no view.
On arriving the hotel seemed warm and inviting. However on entering our room, the heating had not been switched on so it was really cold. Not the best initial impression. However when we spoke to reception this was soon rectified. The breakfast was cooked well and came quickly.
Only other complaint was that although we had hot water the shower was cold. The only way of getting a shower was by running the cold water tap in the basin!!!!!!!!!!!!
The overall impresson of the hotel however was good. It is nicely furnished and in a brilliant location

The Castle Hotel is ideally located to explore the historical part of Lincoln, being between the castle and the cathedral. All the rooms had either castle or cathedral views accordingly.

We stayed in a standard double which was by no means enormous but was adequate and clean, as was the bathroom. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was second to none with a good choice and everything being cooked to order.

There were lots of nice pubs and restaurants within 100 yards of the hotel but it is set back from the main drag so the only noise was from the cathedral bells early in the morning!
