Having read in a local LIncolnshire magazine about the awards this restaurant had received for its food, my wife and I decided to give it a try. we were not disapointed!
The guest house is in a perfect position for exploring the historic city of Lincoln. On arriving we were greeted by Alan who was both friendly and helpfull. He showed us to our room which was up a quaint spiral staircase, and had views over towards the cathedral.
The evening was fabulous. The restaurant area, had a lovely ambiance and the sevice was both efficient and friendly.
The chef seems very keen on sourcing local produce, and the quality was excellent. All in all a very enjoyable evening followed by a good sleep on a very comfortable bed. What more could you ask for?

Stayed here 6th - 7th July 2007, we booked in for a two night stay at the Old Bakery. this was just a weekend break before we go on our main holiday for this year. The rooms are well stocked up with beverages and kept well. Cleaned on daily basis even on a two night break. There is loads to choose from breakfast menu, from full english down to cerals.
When you book the room make sure you book in the resturant at the same time. This as not got to be missed when you visit here or even Lincoln. The food was excellant not tasted any thing like it for such along time and i eat out often.
Make sure you book in plenty of time to get a room or even into the resturant. We are going back before the end of the year.

Other reviews on Tripadvisor brought us to The Old Bakery. The position is good (less than five minutes walk from the castle and cathedral) and the food excellent - book a table in the restaurant when you book your room. Our room was small (which is what we expected), but quite adequate, and we'd certainly go back for a longer stay.

We had a wonderful meal in this restaurant, which incidentally was fully booked for a Tuesday night. If you're in Lincoln you simply must eat here at least once.

I had to come to Lincoln for work. I only stayed the one night but I found that my stay was very pleasant at the Old Bakery. As I had to leave for work early the next day after my stay and would miss breakfast, staff arranged to have muffins, cereal, milk fruit etc to be in my room on my arrival so that I could have breakfast in my room the next day before going to work. I thought this was incredibly kind and unlike so many hotels and bed and breakfast's I have stayed at before I was made to feel very welcome and that nothing was too much trouble for me.

The accomodation itself was very clean, looked after and extreamily accormfortable and in walking distance of the immenities of Lincoln. Unfortunately I was not able to stay longer at The Old Bakery but should I ever come to Lincoln again I would definately stay there and would recommend it to anyone.
