“Little India, Peckleton, always first class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We have eaten many times at Little India Pecklton, and had never had a bad meal. The staff are always pleasant, the service always good, even when they are busy. Food is always piping hot and excellent in flavour and taste. Love the Monday night £10 deal. Lovely surroundings/decor. Recommend the Ajwanin salmon Tikka and the Shami kebab starters. The garlic, lemon and coconut rice are all divine. The Tenga Tatoi, is another great main course to try, as are the Baltis too. I am gluten/wheat intolerant and its always a pleasure to eat here........one of a few I can eat a good choice from the menu.

“BOB10, but BOBCHOTY unlikely”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

After 4 years of travelling around the East Midlands in search of the perfect curry we voted for our 10 favourite curry houses and would visit each of those in 2013. We first visited Little India in 2009, although on our return we were left a little disappointed.

Some of the meals were very tasty, but there was nothing that jumped out and made you think I wouldn't be able to get that in a random curry house in say Oakham or Corby.

Little India are right to be flattered about being on the BOB10, but their chances of winning the inaugural BOBCHOTY(Best of the Best, Curry House of the Year) award may be limited.

The lamb delight which was supposed to be one of the signature dishes had a large amount of dried onions on the tops, which reminded me of bacon bits that you get from a salad cart. I can't see these appealing to many curry fans.

To win BOBCHOTY, a curry house has to go that extra mile, make you feel welcome, deliver you the sort of food that you can't get anywhere else, such as winners of past CHOTY awards (Grand Durbar 2009, Bindi 2010, The Banyan Tree 2011 and Paddy's Marten Inn 2012).

Overall though you'll have a good meal at the Little India, but with the huge amount of choice in the East Midlands and Leicester in particular there are better venues about.

“not sure this is Little India we go to”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

We visit the one in Peckleton, the picture doesnt look the same. However Peckleton, leics is great. They have a fixed price Sunday lunch and a bargain Monday night. But offer great food and service other nights aswell. We live locally and they do deliver but always take over 1hour and more. Not a problem now as we know what to expect. Kids partuclarlly enjoy Bengall butter chicken (mild and creamy but better than korma in my opinion) and if you like it hot have their hot an spicey kengory for starter (hope ive spealt it correctly)
P.S. Their Korma is fine too

“More onions than meat”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

It does feel that the local residents and regulars get special treatment. Maybe it's because most of them are millionaire rugby players. The food is OK, and definitley more onions than meat in the food I've been served/taken away.

Not the best value for money, perhaps because there's not much competition in that remote part of the county. Not a patch on the many excellent ones on Leicester.
