As others have confirmed, reception is efficient and staff friendly without being formal or false. Stayed in ground floor rooms which were well equipped, clean and with a comfortable bed and adequate space. However, wall-mounted thermostat, whilst easy to use, emitted a loud 'thung' every time it cut out or cut in. (To give you an idea of volume, think of a mains switch in a fuse box). Tried to counteract this by setting the temperature to the minimum to stop it cutting in. Unfortunately it reset itself to 20 degrees sometime during the night and kept interrupting my sleep from about 5 a.m. My son, who slept in a separate room, reported an identical experience. I also overheard another guest mention the same problem to reception the next morning. Was not offered any refund under the good nights sleep guarantee, presumably because I didn't get out of bed to report the problem whilst it was happening. Cannot recommend to any but the deepest sleepers.
