“I Stay here every year and 2014 was the best”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW via mobile

I stay at this travelogue every year for my Christmas works party because of its location and price. This year was the best of the last five. The rooms have been refurbished and staff trained in customer satisfaction. The rooms are nice and comfortable and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay again next year.

A nice modern Travel Lodge with good-sized rooms, comfortable beds and friendly helpful staff. Conveniently located directly bang in the city centre. We had a lovely stay and would definetly use the hotel again.

We returned to this travelodge after two years and were pleasantly surprised at the complete refurbishment which made it brighter and more welcoming than before. Not only was the reception and small dining area more 'user-friendly' but the rooms ( we presume all of them) were updated with pale pastel decor, and internal secondary D/glazing which totally eliminated the traffic noise on the adjoining busy main street. We had a 3rd floor room to which there are two quite efficient lifts . The Shower/bath /wc seemed to have been improved also and the whole accommodation was spotless.
There were ample sockets, a good radiator and a good sized mirror with lights and huge space on the 'dressing-table' with tea/coffee making facilities but no drawers.
Above all, the bed itself was absolutely superb !! Very comfortable - lovely pillows and clean linen. We enjoyed a good nights uninterrupted sleep despite traffic outside.( Previously we do recall a constant stream of ambulance / police sirens through the night).
So this was excellent - except for the breakfast, which is an optional payment .....
This is available up to 11.00am - great as you don't have to vacate the room until 12.00 .... but sadly we found the scrambled egg, bacon and beans to be cold , although the sausage managed to retain some warmth. Don't think many visitors elected for breakfast as there was a great waste and no apparent supervision of the food serving area - and this has really let down the otherwise excellent rating for this accommodation. Management - please note !!
Great value for money though and very central for Leicester town centre, just minutes from the cathedral (Richard lll's future tomb). They also provide vouchers for overnight parking in the lot just across the street - only £5.00 !!

Room Tip: There are some rooms facing away from the road but the sound insulation is now 100% ( at the cost of...

Room was nearly taken off me for the staff to have somewhere to stay after their Xmas do. Breakfast awful. Bacon solid, sausages microwaved and pastries like a rock. Do not come here! Sick in the lift.

Great location right in the centre of Leicester. As usual clean room comfortable bed and good shower. If you are looking for a one night stay in the centre this is a good budget hotel. Book in advance to get the best price. You can also get a good English breakfast in The High Cross pub across the road.

Room Tip: Book in advance to get the best price.

Helpful friendly staff, clean refurbished rooms, excellent value for money, I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The late check out 2 hours for £10 was the icing on the cake, well done to who ever thought of that, what a great bonus.
