“UK short break to visit friends and family”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

Just visited the UK to see friends and family. We used to live in Leicester and we were members of the Living Well health club at the Hilton Leicester. We only stayed one night but thoroughly enjoyed it. We would recommend the hotel and the health club and Katie the beautician.

We stayed one night and really liked it. Very clean, staff very friendly, and very quiet.
Breakfast was nice, had some very nice and fresh fruit. The pool area was also very relaxing; we were there on Sunday and it was very quiet too. Nothing to complain about.
We also had a meal in the hotel. The food was good and very reasonably priced.

Firstly let me say this is one of many visits to this Hilton. Always, and I mean always it is a great place to stop.
I have been to meetings here and my husband has held seminar`s on which I always accompany him.
The whole of the time I spend here is totally relaxing. Today I have been sat with my laptop working while my husband is in one of the conference rooms with clients. boring you may think (and so it should ) but the large comfortable sofa`s and the view of the founyain and pond with the ducks and duckling`s on it, has made the sunny day a very lazy and easy one.
The food, is exceptional even if it is a little expensive, its worth it.
My Tip
Order one lot of sandwiches first for two of you as you get enough for two. If you want more then go for it.
The staff are so friendly, smiling, yet ultimately tip top.
Unlimited wifi if you need it in all area`s.
Have not stayed the night here, more is the pity. Hearing guests in the lobby and bar, they all say the rooms are excellent.
Girly hen night here at the moment, a wedding and much more.
The girls are having spa treatments and cocktails.
AB FAB as someone says!!!!!

Room Tip: If you wish to have a spa treatment book in advance.

Stayed at Hilton Leicester for 1 night, the cost was £135. The hotel was full and I was given a sub-standard room, after complaining, reception gave me a decent room...this is a Hilton, why should you have to complain? Paid £18 for a lasagna dinner...yes £18 !! It was cooked so fast in was obvious it was already frozen and then cooked in a microwave..no doubt it only cost £1.50..if that. If you stay in Leicester, stay at the Marriott across the road, much cleaner and nicer.

I recently stayed at the Hilton Leicester for 2 nights (business). Overall it was a pleasant stay with great facilities for a business traveller, such as free wifi in the public areas (though price for in room wifi is very high).

Upon arrival I was allocated a room on the 2nd floor, but as a lone female with several bags including suitcase / laptop bags etc I wasn't happy with as there was no lift. The receptionist was very helpful and offered me a ground floor room. This was an 'accessible' room which I didn't need but was fine. The décor however was very outdated and not reflective of those shown on the website. It was spacious with settee and desk area and clean though.

Over the 2 nights I sampled the breakfast and lounge bar food, both were very nice, particularly the buffet breakfast, with a large variety of options including unsliced bread, extensive continental and cooked options.

The bar prices were expensive at £6.50 for a small glass of pinot grigio.

My experience of the staff was most were excellent, friendly, helpful etc, and would be the main reason I would return if the need arises.

Nice hotel with very friendly staff! No biscuit's in room! Rooms nice but a bit dated. Lovely toiletries the wife loves them! Who am I kidding I love them! Steak was fatty so avoid the rib eye! Breakfast great porridge blueberries and an omelette. Gym really good. For some reason they push a loud trolley down the corridor late at night 11:30. Overall good. Drinks very expensive! £7.00 for a glass of house wine! Its not London or a swanky bar!

Great Hilton hotel, one of the best I have stayed in. Book a deluxe room for a little extra for 2 double beds and other additons including wine replenished and snacks/water. Parking is £5 a night but secure, barrier and cctv. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
