“Overnight stay at the hilton in leicester”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012 via mobile

I stayed at the hilton for one night on business. It is situated next to the motorway...a ten min drive to the center of leicester. The check in and check out were done efficiently and the service was good. The room was adequate for my needs but nothing special, there was no air conditioning. I ordered room servuce but found the food was really expensive.

Room service and breakfast all lovely. Bathroom needs updating though. Gorgeous entrance lounge. Roads around hotel very confusing if your not used to busy junctions and motorways. You couldn't hear the road though from the room.

This is a good hotel superbly located for ease of access from the M69 and ideal for business users apart from the policy of charging for wifi use in the bedrooms. Practices vary between hotels but my expectation is to be able to use wifi free in all parts of a hotel including the bedrooms as i do in most of the hotels I choose to stay in. I know I am not alone in this respect since through talking to other guests and reading a recent survey the lack of free wifi can be a real deal breaker. I think Hilton worldwide should consider the views of its customer base rather than its bottom line because in due course it migth not have a bottom line.

Room Tip: Choose one with free wifi if you can find one!

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on Trip Advisor. i was delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We review all feedback we receive, and your comments regarding our wi-fi provision, will be discussed when we complete our regular reviews of the provision we make. Whilst chargable in our rooms, we do provide free access in all of our public areas, for guests to make use off, and is an alternative to having to pay. I do appreciate that this is not always ideal when staying in a hotel, and this is constantly monitored through the feedback we receive. Thank you again for sharing your comments and feedback.

I came here after attending a friend's wedding nearby. After booking I heard some bad things said about this hotel but after staying here I could honestly say I have no complaints with it.

Got a good deal on the room amd it was spacious with a big bed and large desk. Included use of spa facilities but didn't use them due to time constraints. View could've been a bit better was just a view of bushes but overall wasn't detrimental to my stay.

We came here for 1 night as it was a break away for my husbands birthday, they up graded us to a super deluxe suite, which we didn't like as it had a massive desk in the room (like a reception desk) with a telephone in the middle, and the bed was at the front of the desk, really strange set up! we went to reception to ask if we could change rooms which they happily did for us. We had a lovely room on the ground floor, very quite and easy access to the pool and gym. Complimentary wine and goodies in the room, along with a birthday card for my husband.
Dinner was fantastic, couldn't fault the service and again had a complimentary bottle of wine for dinner.. the room was very clean and quite. Breakfast again we couldn't fault, a variety of foods, cereals, fruit, pancakes, full english.. £5 parking was steep when we mentioned this to reception they said we didn't have to pay and gave us a pass.. over all experience of this hotel was first class, staff were very polite and helpfull during our stay.. food and room excellent...

Room Tip: do not ask for a superdeluxe we had a deluxe room and it was lovely and spacious with a 32" tv

Stayed in the hotel for one night whilst in Leicester on business. Had to wait 15 minutes to check in since there was only one person on the desk. Check out wasn't much better with another 15 minute wait at midday.

Room was OK but windows were old and ill fitting with a vent grill which was permanently open. Since I was in a room facing a busy road, room was noisy throughout stay.

Standard breakfast, although since restaurant was busy, items kept on running out and took ages to be replenished. Dinner was nothing specially ( pub standard) but £9.40 for a glass of wine in the bar was very expensive. Also bit off that a resident has to pay £5 for the car park while it appeared that guests at a wedding were getting a ticket to get their parking for nothing.

Having just returned from America where the internet is free in your room as a matter of course, it's a bit galling to be told it would cost £14.50 for 24 hours (although free in the lobby and bar)

£75 for bed and breakfast a good deal

Room Tip: A room facing the car park might be less noisy

£5.25 for a bottle of water these people really know how to hold onto their customers £2 even £3 is bearable but £5.25 is totally taking the **** The rest of the hotel? Nothing flash pretty sanitised, this is the best Leicester has I'm afraid and don't these complacent Hilton people know it.
No air conditioning and the rooms are hot asked for a fan 3 times it never came Mattress uncomfortable and soft shower under pressured from the 70's
