“Good location, average business hotel ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

The Hotel is very close to the town center so shops & malls are easily accessible. The Hotel grading seems was pulled down & basic amenities like fridge, Iron board were missing. BAR & food was good. Staff is Friendly . Overall average hotel.

Firstly - not great when you're carrying heavy baggage to floor 8 and when you get there the room key doesn't work

Secondly - despite being a platinum member I was offered room 815 which in a nut shell would compete poorly against some youth hostels... the smell as you entered the room was shocking and having raised this and the stains on the bedding I was just fobbed off

Not a great experience and won't be staying here again on business

Dear aj82aj,

Thank you for being an IHG Rewards Club Platinum Member and sharing your experience with us. I am sincerely sorry that the service received on this visit was not up to par and if the room you were given was a dissatisfaction. We will work on improving on these aspects and appreciate your feedback as this is our best means of doing so.

Kind Regards,

Leicester Tigers were playing at home, kick-off at 8.00pm so the wife and I decided to make a night of it and stay over. The hotel listed a Welford Road B&B special.

The hotel is an easy 20 minute walk from the grounds and near to the shopping centre (with an impressive collection of restaurants and eateries).

The room was large and airy with everything we needed for an overnight stay.

The hotels biggest asset though are the staff. Cheerful, smiling and giving the genuine impression that they really do want you to enjoy your stay.

So all in all a great stay and we will be back.....

BUT. One big criticism of the hotel the cost of the WiFi. Come on HI even my local country pub offers free internet access. The charges were eye-watering and I didn't bother connecting - especially when I can get free access in the shopping centre.

the staff in this hotel were certainly friendly. The leisure facilities were very good indeed with indoor pool steam room and sauna as well as a gym. Nice big room with a very comfortable bed.
Not sure why so many room have an interconnecting door which although we ignored the same could not be said for the children who were often left alone in the room next to ours who kept trying to open it and knock on it (why they were on their own at such a young age is a cause for concern.
The two main points in this hotel which were of some annoyance were the key cards which kept de activating themselves (could not get in after our night out or after the leisure club in the morning so this really needs addressing).
Also the car park which although is extremely near does rather add to the cost at £10 per night. We did not eat in the hotel but the menu did look rather expensive.
Good tea and coffee facilities in the room however.

Room Tip: The lifts were rather noisy and perhaps if there was a room without a connecting door I would choose...

Excellent, clean room, great facilities, brilliant location, helpful staff. Would stay again and very impressed with the quality of this Holiday Inn.

Take swim stuff for pool + sauna too!

Car parking (NCP) expensive.

The staff were brilliant, the rooms were clean and comfortable, great location, great selection for breakfast. Nothing negative to report.
I didn't get chance to use the leisure facilities but they looked great.
Would certainly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning.

A modern hotel next to the football stadium. Staff were helpful. For the price rooms are well equipped and clean. Breakfast was a buffet with a poor selection of hot food and as usual the scrambled eggs were overcooked
