“Worst Indian ever!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

We came across this restaurant with a deal through Wowcher, which sounded great and a total bargain as me and my partner enjoy Indian alot. We visted on 8/2/13 and we're very diasappointed. Firstly, the restaurant was just one room which was rather cramped and heated by a gas heater by the door, we got seated and looked through the menu. The menu looked amazing with lots of different choices and the classics you expect to see at an Indian. I ordered a chicken korma and my partner ordered a spicy lamb dish, the korma did not taste like a korma what so ever and there were no naans available only chappatis. The music was so repetative it drove me crazy!! Overall, worst Indian experience ever, would never consider going again and i would not pay full price for a meal here.

“Why bother”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013 via mobile

If this was the first time I had eaten Indian cuisine I would not bother again...I know my curries and the flavour Indian cuisine can produce and this was far from what I'm sure there ansestors have taught them...

“Dakshin disppointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

I am writing this due to having a disappointing meal at the Dakshin.
On arrival at the restaurant on 11th Jan 2013, we first noticed the heating was provided by a calor gas heater, next twe ordered poppadoms, but then found they had ran out of mango chutney!
we munched through these then ordered the main, at this point we discovered that they had ran out of Naan bread! so had to settle for an alternative bread.
one of our friends asked for "CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA"
Chunks of indian style tandoori chicken, cooked in rich tomato sauce, as pasted here from their on line menu, to be told we don't have it only chicken masala, which was very very mild and tasted and looked exactly like the Korma someone else ordered, at the end of the meal, there were no hot towels, or mints with the instant coffee!
the other meals tasted ok, but overall a disppointing night out due to the above, to top it all they only accept cash payments we found out at the end as did two other tables who had to go to the cash machine while their party waited.

“Stands out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

Recently had a table early evening looking to get a bit more authentic eating experience from our local Indian Restaurants which all seem to be bland these days.Friendly an informative waiter who guided us through the menu and all the food we ate was delicious and individual.Highly recommended.

“Excellent Fayre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

Many Indian restaurants offer food that has a uniform taste whatever the dish, but not so here. Real individual depths of flavour can be found in each dish, all served by friendly and courteous staff. If you wish to try real Southern Indian food then this is the place to go.
