“Will give it another go soon”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

Visited the almanack on Sunday and was disappointed. It is not was it used to be in the way of food and service. Granted the chap on the bar was new but when we ate our roast dinner the service was not up to my previous experiences of friendly and attentive. The food was ok, I have always found it a tad on the pricey side but am willing to pay to get a decent meal. The chefs always seem to be texting or on their phones as you can see it is a look in kitchen. The tea and coffee is always good and so is the selection of drinks. I will be coming again I only hope there will be some improvement!

“disappointing burgers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

we had one vegetarian and one beef burger which were both disappointing in their flavour. We have had breakfast here and been very pleased but will choose somewhere else for an evening.

“Decent price, decent service, decent atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

All round good experience at the Almanack.

Food was very tasty on my last visit, although the Sunday roast is served a little strangely (one platter from which we had to share....would've preferred individual portions!).

Reasonably priced food, and good, polite service. It can get a little loud depending on what time/day you're visiting; although this is to be expected in an open-plan bustling little restaurant and bar!

Would recommend.

“Always a good bet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

I've eaten here many times, most recently today. It's big and spacious, and family friendly without being noisy or full of plastic ball pits!! I like it because of the real food - homemade, often locally produced, hearty and well cooked. I especially like their range of homemade burgers. And the desserts are divine.
