Attended (with a heavy heart based on previous experience) for a meal early evening on a Tuesday with friends who were keen to come here; I hoped for an improvement on my previous recent visits but was in for a let-down...
We were seated in an awkward spot and met with refusal when we asked to be located elsewhere, despite several other tables remaining empty throughout our visit. Last time I was here, we were seated directly outside the very unpleasant smelling men's toilet upstairs; this time, directly in front of the kitchen counter downstairs, with a constant stream of waiting staff leaning across us to place & collect orders or hovering next to the table waiting to do so.
As always, despite my request to be able to order - or at least receive - dishes a couple at a time in traditional tapas style, we were encouraged to place a single order and then were served all the dishes at the same time, resulting in tapas that should have been eaten hot having cooled & coagulated as we proceeded. Patatas bravas arrived (already) cold and seven out of ten dishes came with a heavy dose of raw smoked paprika sprinkled over the top, drowning out many of the flavours and making everything taste pretty samey. One exception was the crab croquettes, which unfortunately tasted of mouldering bread; thankfully at our mention of this, the waiter had the decency to immediately & unquestioningly remove them from the table, following which another member of staff came to the table and told us "of course" we wouldn't be charged for that dish.
Had to ask three times for tap water to drink - although admittedly there was hardly space on the table for the tapas deluge, let alone a second glass for each diner.
A terribly disappointing experience; such a pity given the potential and lack of good tapas - or other Spanish food - in Leicester. I would suggest they reduce the vastness of the menu to increase turnover & hopefully freshness - and allow customers to order & receive dishes one by one. I don't imagine they will care to do so though - for some reason this is a popular spot as it is. Next time it's suggested that I come here, I will recommend our going to the adjoining bar next door and having a drink before moving on elsewhere to eat.

Hi and thank you for taking the time to review us.

We are sorry to hear you felt our service and food was not up to our usual standards.
When customers are unhappy with tables we give them, we will always try and move them to another table, sometimes our tables may appear to be empty but will normally be booked out, However sometimes people do book tables and not show up without letting us know.
We think all of our tables are just as suitable regardless of where in the restaurant they are.
We always recommend to customers to have their dishes sent out at once because we can get very busy at peak times and as our food is cooked from fresh there can sometimes be delays.
We use paprika on most of our dishes as this is an essential ingredient in spanish cooking.
If requested the option to not have this on any of our dishes can be arranged.
You mention that the bravas was cold and the crab croquettes were not up to standard, From our records we can see that an alternative was offered to you.
With regards to asking for the water 3 times we have a strict time policy on getting drinks to tables and our cctv footage shows your request was met within 5 minutes of asking.
Again we apologise if you feel our standards were not accectable and hope you will not be completely put of from dining with us again.
