After reading reviews on another website we were very dubious about booking this hotel. This hotel is cheap and in Blackpool you pay for what you get. The free parking and the proximity to the pleasure beach and sandcastle were very welcome, but far enough from the noise of the arcades etc.
The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and spacious and all the amenities were available.
Our children loved being able to go into the bar and play pool and they were made to feel at home by the owner. The breakfast was good and our requests were provided with no fuss.
We would recommend this hotel to those that want a cheap B&B.

Room Tip: Our family room No 4 was very spacious.

We stayed at the Roker for 2 nights on a B&B basis. The hotel is lovely but is a bit far from the seafront centre. However, there is a tram and a bus stop directly across from the hotel. Parking at the hotel is OK. The room we had was really good - because it was a quiet part of the season (we were there at the beginning of June, 2013) we were upgraded to a seafront family room - 1 double bed & 2 single beds - full marks!! The breakfast was standard: cereal, juices, and cooked breakfast - it was good, well cooked food. One point is if you go to this hotel take your own towels and toiletries - we were given one hand towel!! Apart from that we enjoyed our stay and we were well looked after so, again, full marks and we would stay there again.

If you are an average family like we are, looking for a trip on a budget then the Roker is good. The gentleman that runs it is so nice,he could not do enough for us.I had also read some unhappy comments online, but i am sure if you talk to the owner about these issues then he would try to resolve them.We will be staying there again.

We stayed with our 5 year old son in this hotel for a night. The person at the reception was friendly and I think he is "all in all" in the hotel. He helped us in many ways including getting water and milk for our son. Initially we were taken to room 19, but we did't like it, as it was congested with two beds, no space to walk around and very importantly the linen was filthy with stains. The wall mounted kettle stand was dodgy and loose, posing threat to safety of the guest. Because of this we were given another room (room 15) with the sea-view; cleanliness was better and the room was bit spacious and bright; however the wi-fi reception was very poor and mostly no reception at all. The TV is very basic, changing the channel is nightmare due to dodgy remote. In the morning, we did't get the hot water in the shower and when asked we were advised to wait for an hour as "too many of them in the hotel are taking bath at same time"- which is completely unacceptable and ridiculous. So, basic stuffs in the hotel such as general cleanliness, hot water and decent TV with remote are missing, which is worrying. We didn't have the courage to try out the breakfast in the hotel, we just escaped!!!

Room Tip: Room 19 is NOT for family with children.

"With picturesque views of Fylde coast, this room also features an en suite bathroom, TV and tea/coffee making facilities." The above is how the rooms ( booked 2 double rooms). were described when we booked through booking.com. What we got in reality is......

First double room did not have sea view, it was a large wall facing aother hotel at the back. There was no TV and only one hand and one bath towel for two people. The bedside light did not work and the a bed of nails would have been more comfy than the one we tried to sleep on.

The other double room ( for my brother in law) had a TV, but not work. He had tea/coffee tray etc, but no kettle. He also had the same view of the back from his window, I also understand that the bed was as bad as ours.

Breakfast was not too bad, but it soon became clear that the hotel had more rooms than tables in the dining area, so people who arrived earlier or later than their allotted time ( ours was 8.30- 9am) found that the tables were full or waiting to be cleared.

Luckily we were only staying one night in this lower than basic hotel. It has the potential do better with the bar and games room, but at this moment in time, we will not be staying there for the foreseeable future. Some may say you get what you pay for and this was a cheap hotel, but we did not get what was described.

Room Tip: As a basic one night place, you may want to consider it, but don't expect more than the very bas...

Spent one night here in a twin room, room was very small but was great for what we needed. The decor in the room was a little old, the curtains and wardrobe had seen better days but the beds were clean and comfy and we had what looked like brand new sheets and covers on as you could still see the folds from where they had been in the packet. The male owner was very welcoming and helpful as was the whole family! Breakfast was good, free parking, and location is right next to pleasure beach.. overall we enjoyed our stay!
