“Friendly, helpful and a fantastic stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2011

Having a large family we struggled to find many places to accommodate us but it was no trouble for the corner view. We had a lovely weekend and the help we got from the staff no matter what we needed was excellent!! I would reccommend this guest house to family and friends as the breakfast is fantastic the service was excellent and the room was nice. Don't let the outside put you off. It's the shops that are run down that have nothing to do with the guest house that makes it look run down but once you walk through the door and get in to your rooms you won't be dissapointed. Thank you corner view for a brilliant weekend and hope to stay again next year :)

When we first pulled up outside our party was shocked,it looked awful but we persevered and I'm glad we did! Although the decor left a lot to be desired and it stunk of cigs it was actually quite clean. The owners could not do enough for you, the bed I was in was very comfy and the breakfast was gorgeous!!! I would definitely go back for a girly weekend!!

The corner view was warm and friendly, my daughter loved it and was at ease the whole stay. the full english was FANTASTIC and the evening meal was BRILLIANT. the room was pleasant and comfortable. Norm and Evelyn were so friendly it felt like home from home or like visiting old friends, norm was always on hand for info. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and i'm about plan the next one :D

A warm welcome was offered by storming Norm, Evey and Tanya. We were pleasantly surprised they had remembered us from our stay last year.
The bar offered a wide selection of beveridges, however the stench of stale smoke made us want to physically gag. The rooms were extremely clean and bedding fresh, however they were in dire need of a window cleaner and the trical of water they referred to as a shower left a lot to be desired.
Evey seems to be extremely over worked as not only is she queen of the Corner View, but she also works her fingers to the bone in cromwells Cafe down the street where she offers a hefty discount to all Corner View guests.
Sadly we did not partake in evening meals so cannot comment. The breakfast well what can i say last year the whole thing tasted like it was straight out the deep fat fryer and the grease was swimming on the plate yuck!!!!!!!
On the first day of our stay we therefore opted for bacon sandwiches and although bread tasted a little hard, the bacon was well cooked and not greasy. The next day we had chanced the fry up and it was a marked improvement on last year. The breekfast room looked like something out the dark ages and Evey had a strong objection to the windows been opened.
On theire website it states comes as strangers leave as friends but as our case it was more like leave as family as Evey offered a big hug and wished us safe journey home. I am sure i even saw her wipe a tear from her eye.
all in all a great place to stay for young groups looking for a drunken weekend. Dont worry Evey we will be back!!!!!!
