Had a fantastic "hag" weekend here at Rubens. Lara and Ashley were perfect hosts. Ashley a right wind up merchant...hehe!!
Breakfast was perfect in size, presentation and most importantly - taste!
The hotel is extremely clean and the rooms are very comfortable.
Hotel bar quite cheap too. We were right opposite Funny Girls and went there for a night out. It was a really good night's entertainment.
Would definitely recommend the Rubens as compared to other hotels in Blackpool it is second to none!
Nothing was too much trouble for these lovely ladies!!

Wow! We went to Blackpool as a group of 17 & Rubens accomodated for us so well. Ashley & Lara were lovely. The rooms were very clean & comfortable. They even put a teddy on each bed! The beds were very good - we all slept like babies! Breakfast was very yummy. I recommend this hotel to all, and I know this will be where we stay next time we stay in Blackpool.

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel considering the tariff. The rooms all have an "artistic theme" and each room is named after an artist. We stayed in Van Goghs room! It was very comfortable, tastefully decorated and at the front of the hotel. We were informed the next morning that there had been some rowdiness outside in the early hours but we had not heard a thing and we're not particularly heavy sleepers. And we were certainly not aware of any noise from other occupants; you can so often hear far too much in the more modern builds!!!

The owners are very welcoming and friendly and made sure that we weren't going to fall foul of the parking restrictions and even offered to move our car while we were out This was not necessary as they spotted a space for us before we left to explore. (It was Bank Holiday Monday and the parking rules were confusing to us ludites!)

This hotel is very close to "The Flying Handbag" pub and Funny Girls - each just a minute's walk away.

Breakfast was one of the best we've ever had. We were quite picky in our demands - firm egg/runny egg; no beans/no hash browns etc etc and we were both presented with what we asked for. You can't get better than that. If you have room there is endless supplies of tea/coffee and toast. The cereals, bread and condiments were brand names of quality, not nasty cheap versions.

If you want to stay on the North Shore, this is the place to stay. Good quality for reasonable money.

We will most definitely be staying here again on our next visit to Blackpool. Thanks girls for all your efforts - well appreciated.

  • Liked — The welcome, the breakfast, the room decor/comfort.......Just about everything!!
  • Disliked — I'm being picky - hairdryer and hot chocolate in the room would have been lovely!

This is where I always choose to stay when in Blackpool, mainly as it's so close to Funny Girls, and such good value.

It has changed hands since my first visit, but the new owners are just as friendly and welcoming.

Each room is individually and co-ordinatedly furnished in its own style, and they all have nice en-suites too.

What's best is that when in their rooms, you feel comfy and cosy, not like you're in some generic seaside B&B. You even get a teddy bear in each room, sat on the bed to welcome you!

The breakfast was outstanding and pleantiful, and the lady owners were happy to give us advice on things we could do in the day, as the hotel is on the North Shore, and very near the theatres and town centre.

Will most definately be staying here again!

  • Liked — Friendly staff, breakfast, comfy rooms, proximity to Funny Girls
  • Disliked — I can't think of anything!
