“Best in Blackpool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2007

My pals and I go to Blackpool every November and the King Edward Hotel is now the only place we ever stay. You are guaranteed are warm welcome from Angela and Keith. It is the cleanest guest house I have ever stayed in. (and there has been a few). There is a well stocked bar that offers everything you would expect from your local. The breakfast is first rate. If you are looking for somewhere to stay during your break in Blackpool, I can honestly recomend the King Edward Hotel.

My family and I have just spent a long weekend at this Hotel and were impressed by the warm welcome and kind hosptiality of Keith and Angela. I would strong recommend this hotel to anyone with a family looking to stop in Blackpool. The room was clean and spacious, with everything we required. We throughly enjoyed our weekend and we will definately be returning again soon. thanks.

My family and I (two adults and three children) usually find booking a room in Blackpool difficult for the five of us. Not at the King Edward Hotel though! We frequently stay in Blackpool, and have been to some of what are considered the best hotels in Blackpool. However, Keith and Angela made us feel extremely welcome here, and during our very brief stay, we were all impressed by the cleanliness, care and friendliness of all at the hotel. Little touches made the difference here, and as other reviews have said, a lot of hard work must go on to to achieve these standards of accomodation at the King Edward. A very clean, warm and welcoming hotel. Very homely. Well stocked and very reasonably priced bar. Excellent breakfast! Good location too, just off the promenade away from the mad hustle bustle of central Blackpool.
My wife, children and I will be back soon!- No hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone! Thanks Keith, Angela and co.

Nice welcome, lovely breakfasts, and a quiet area but still only 200 yards away from the trams......about 2 miles from the Tower.
Room was "compact" and had seen better days and the mattress was a bit hard.
While we thoroughly enjoyed our break we were surprised that the hotel was rated amongst the best in Blackpool. Perhaps that in itself tells a story about the town.
Would certainly consider using again, and good value for money.
Because we enjoyed our getaway so much I feel almost apologetic about these comments but I am sure people would prefer honesty in the reviews.

  • Liked — Friendly staff and magnificent breakfasts.
  • Disliked — Difficult access for the handicapped. Mattress a bit too hard. No car park.

Have just returned from a long weekend in Blackpool. This has become an annual event for my partner and I and this is our third stay with Keith and Angela. Situated in a quite street on the north shore, but just a minute or 2 from a tram stop its ideally placed if you like to be away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of blackpool. There is always a warm and friendly welcome awaiting you, along with a cup of tea if you want it. Clean ensuite rooms, although the one we had this year was compact it was more than adequate, with its own tv and tea/coffee making facilities. The King Edward has its own bar and lounge which is nice to come back to for a night cap before retiring for the night. Keith is an excellent host and you couldn't hope to meet a nicer guy. The cooked breakfasts are good, with generous portions, and they will try to accommodate your tastes where possible, being quite happy to do scrambled eggs instead of fried and extra crispy bacon. All in all enjoyable place to stay and we will definitely be staying there again.

  • Liked — The warm and friendly welcome and its location.
  • Disliked — Nothing.

We spent a long weekend visiting Blackpool to see the Illuminations and were lucky enough to find the King Edward Hotel. Mine hosts, Keith and Angela, made sure our stay was memorable. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the food excellent (resulting in a 4lb weight gain!). We were made to feel part of the family and can recommend the Hotel to those visiting the Blackpool area. Thanks for a really good weekend and we will return.
