“Funny weekend!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

This was a belly laugh from start to finish Buddy Lee is worth his weight in gold and then to team up with the fabulous Carl schofield is a stroke of genius ! The rest of the entertainment have a difficult job following Buddy and Carl I wouldnt want to follow after !!! The hotel is a bit tired in places and could do with a lick of paint but clean and comfortable none the less. We have reserved 3 rooms for next year as we really had a fabulous time, the food was nice too !!

Just returned from 5 nights all inclusive at the viking, with my family, including my 20 year old grandson and his friend (so not just for the oldies). We had a wonderful time, the food is excellent, the entertainment top quality (especially with Buddy Lee returning from holiday that week) the drinks package is worth the price alone. Just booked for the same week next February.
By the way this is the first time I have ever wrote a review on trip advisor.

Just returned from 5 night all inclusive stay with 10 friends.
Reception staff well informed and friendly
Bar service great special thanks to Paul and David (ID)
Restaurant service could not be faulted food great with plenty of variety to suit all tastes.
Buffet style breakfast great
But nightly entertainment made our holiday Buddy Lee so talented and able to hold an audience for over 2 hours innuendo yes crude no. Two acts every night and big money bingo.
Rooms clean and spacious for two with maid service every day.
Tea and coffee in room but no decaff.
Looking forward to next visit.
Unfortunately no disabled access but hotel tell you this before you go some of the stairs a challenged for able bodied

Room Tip: First floor not as many stairs

Had a bit of a mixup when i arrived as they had booked me at claremont, where i have never been as ten of us meet here and have done for the last few years. It was soon sorted out and we were booked in by very helpful reception staff. The food is brill! I put on 4lb in 5 days. And what can i say about the entertainment it was fantastic, Buddy Lee was back and on form especially when on with Carl Schofield, we were all in stitches. Every night was good, had some good banter with the staff especially jacqueline in restaurant, they were all very pleasant and thats why we go back every year.

Upgraded to a sea view room and specifically requested a bath. Originally allocated to room 240, no bath as requested, no 27inch tv as advertised and practically had to stand on a chair to access the seaview. In fact, I would question if this was in fact an upgraded sea view room at all, maybe we were allocated it by mistake? Anyhow, one quick phone call to reception and promptly relocated to room 117 which is bay windowed and affords beautiful views across the bay. A really lovely room, though noisy situated as it is right next to the restaurant. Food was surprisingly good, service fast and efficient with a wide choice on the dinner menu and a good serve yourself breakfast. Hotel is very clean, cannot fault it. Oh dear, the cabaret was woeful but worth enduring becase the host, Buddy Lee, really is a gem and maybe on stage longer than the acts he introduces. Thoroughly recommend you catch him. The Viking is what it is, a two star plus hotel. Nothing more or less and I probably would return.

Room Tip: If upgrading to see view, definitely request bay windowed rooms.

Been to the Viking many times but this is the first time all inclusive. As always very friendly staff at reception on arrival. Rooms clean & comfortable. Food is delicious with an excellent choice. Staff are very friendly & extremely helpful. Entertainment is superb.Good range of drinks on the all inclusive deal, but if you wanted different we only paid £1 each. Bargain! Whether all inclusive or not its a good value for money weekend break.
