5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2012

can,t fault this hotel. starting with the welcome we got as we arrived from the hotel reception staff. then the bedroom we got with a lovely sea view, food was excellent and service was perfect. entertainment was great in the talk of the coast with the brilliant buddy lee, carl schofield and carol kaye plus the sensation dancers. all in all a great holiday. have been numerous times before and will definitely go back again. never stopped laughing at the show with the fabulous buddy lee.

Room Tip: recommend a sea view

My partner and I have just come back from a 3 night stay at the Viking, the break was booked last minute and we were not sure if it would be good. The hotel and staff were great, we were very happy with the meals especially, my partner comented that they were the best meals she has had in the uk. We were served each time by the same waitress Tracey who was a star, we will definatley go back again. The entertainment was also very good.

Enjoyed a weekend break in the Viking Hotel at the start of May 2012. The reception at the hotel was very good and staff all through the weekend were efficient and pleasant. The room was small but reasonably sized. Shower was adequate and abundant hot water. Our room (273) was along the main access corridor and stairwell to upper floors and was noisy all 3 nights we were there. We paid for a sea view room but would probably have been better placed if we were to the rear of the hotel. No control of noisy residents coming and going at all hours - 04.00 on our last night (Sun) at the hotel. The breakfast, as referenced by other people staying at the hotel, was very good. Evening meals were - adequate. We had a table by the window with an excellent view and made meals both morning and evening an enjoyable experience. The entertainment was in the main very good but if not for an audience that were fully participating in the show might not have been as good. The hotel is ideally placed for restaurants and pubs, and if you like a good walk, it's ideal for access to shops etc in the centre of town. All in all it was at great weekend in Blackpool with all the resort has to offer. The Viking Hotel might not be our 1st choice next visit.

Room Tip: Choice of room that is away from main access stairs etc.

We stayed at the Viking Hotel for a mid-week break in early May 2012.The hotel is clean and reasonably comfortable for a 2 star hotel. The food is good, especially the buffet breakfast in the morning(eat as much as you want).Perhaps the evening dinner time could have been a bit later, say 6.30pm to 8.30pm not as it is now 6.00pm to 7.30pm.Useful tip here.Do not go to the restaurant at opening times. For a lot of elderly pensioners start standing in line about 10 minuetes before opening times and all rush in when the doors open.Go for your meals about 45 minuetes after opening times and you will find the service more pleasant and a lot quicker. The evening entertainment is first class, especially if Buddy Lee is performing.
We have used the hotel many times over the past 10 years, both for mid-week and weekend breaks and have never been disappointed with our stays.

Room Tip: Rooms on Higher floors have many steps to reach them. The hotel as only 2 small lifts which are alway...

Stayed 2 nights in April after argument with manager about room, we had Booked sea view through booking.com and were given rear room .Eventually moved to front of hotel .
Room was very small ,dated decor but clean.
Food was very good can't fault it.
Entertainment in downstairs club very good but beer disgusting and very expensive. Most people drinking bottled beers .
Excellent location right on front near fairground .
Would return to use hotel as base but drink somewhere else .
Plenty of places with good
entertainment and drink just around corner .Dupel club , Hampton road social club .
