Just returned from yet another stay at the Lyndene, 6 days, 5 nights, tinsel & turkey. Reception Staff have maintained their proffesional manner, quick and polite check-in. Quick to help and assist. Bedroom cleanliness was still extremely high. However, BE CAREFUL WITH THE HOT WATER!! Must have had some changes to the plumbing. Constant hot water, but taps were very powerful, if you are not aware of this, it is easy to splash back, also hot is very hot, very quick, so it is easy to get scalded. There is a small notice telling you to "beware very hot water". Bar service and prices remain very good. Overall cleanliness of the hotel is very good. Lot of money been spent on new tables in the dining rooms. But there appears to be cut backs on waiting staff. We had in all, 10 meals and 5 different waiters/waitresses. Keep clear of the Chilli. We complained that the mince was still raw in places, a lot of people sent the meal back. Then in our case it took 20 minutes to be served with our sweet. It was obvious that we were being ignored. We made another complaint to Brian (Maitre d), the following day was better service. Breakfast is still buffet service. If you want breakfast waiter served, then when you check in, ask for top tier, Washington Restaurant. Evening dinner is waiter served wherever you sit. Entertainment is still very good. But too many artists sing the same songs as each other. Example: Ben E King tribute night was followed the next evening by a singer who sang a lot of Drifter songs that Ben E King had sung the night before. Also, some of the artists are the same as earlier in the season but their acts are still exactly the same, gets a bit boring. Having said all of this............. we have still booked for 2013 early break.

Having stayed here many times the last in March 2012 and noticing slight changes, we went for our evening meal and no table cloths!!! the Washington looked like a school canteen, even though it had been decorated recently, no waiter service at breakfast guests struggling through tables. took twice as long to get served.

Same very friendly staff run off there feet, trying to clear away breakfast plates and trying to get past the crowds getting served, cleaning the tables at the same time, not good house keeping than serving helping with plates if a guest needed help, NEVER HAPPENED WHEN YOU HAD WAITER SERVICE.

The food was ok.

THEN told going all inclusive this week-end not for me

Never had to complain before about the chaimbermaids before, no clean towels left .

Room Tip: Rooms over dance floor are noisy, we order a double room as we know some are very small

We have been to the Lyndene quite a few times, always found it very good. The food is good lots of choice and good quality. EntertaInment is also very good, you have organ music which you can dance to at the beginning of the evening, it is quite hard to get a seat at times, you have to be early. Then you have a variety, sometime singers or comedianes or a group but very good. The people who run it are very nice as are the waitresses and waiters, ther might be the odd one who is not very pleasant but we can all be like that at times. The cleaners do a good job as well, we havn't found much to grumble about. Although we havn't been there for a while it is hard to get a room some times, think it was 2010 the last time we were there.

Room Tip: We always try to get a sea view room.

Been Tinsel week 12/11/2012 !!! Far far too crowded, You feel like your in a shoe box you can't move the hotel is far too warm. The entertainment is in one room then goes over to the next and does the same act! You can't get a seat unless you sit there from 5 o'clock feels like gods waiting room! Dinning and Breakfast is manic and tasteless..... Glad to be home!

Room Tip: Travel lodge @ £19 per room North pier and eat out!

I brought aparty of 50 guests to the Lyndene for the 1st time this year and i''ve got to say that the staff on arrival were 2nd to none. Polite, helpful and efficient. The waiters and waitress' in the restaurant were very friendly, helpful and considerate. The excellent food was served hot and the vegetables arrived with the plates. The bar staff also were very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much for any of the staff. I will recommend the Lyndene to anyone who asks me where to stay in blackpool.
My 50 guests gave the Lyndene a 100% pass rate.
We have already re-booked for next year and looking forward to it.
