“You've tried the rest now try the best!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2011

This was our second stay and was most enjoyable. The reception staff were efficient and very pleasant. The room was immaculate, cosy and the bed was comfortable. The decor in room was very pleasant and modern. The restuarant was very nice, breakfast had excellant choices and was served piping hot and plentiful. The evening meals were lovely with a good selection (apart from the tasteless watery curry) sorry to say but give it a miss or change ingredients. However, the starters, main and deserts were very nice. Regards to the chef! The entertainment was first class and something for everyone, if people don't enjoy the entertainment then they must be very hard to please. Even the afternoons had something for guests or just relax with a nice coffee or tea in one of the lounges.

The massage on offer was also a very nice treat and a great price (give it a try for some relaxation). Then there is the artist Stuart who done a beautiful drawing of my late father at a very reasonable cost, it is a must service too.

Finally, keep up the good work Lyndene and look forward to another visit soon. Thanks to all the staff.

Oops. Only one moan, please change the NET CURTAINS on front rooms they are yellow looking and sore on the eye from the outside particularly with the lovely decor in the rooms. Sorry to say.

having booked this hotel after reading the great reviews we were asked by the lyndene to stay at st chads next door because there were fully booked all meals and entertainment would be at the lyndene which we did not mind as it was right next door having arrived at around 4pm we went to lyndene reception the receptionist was very nice and helpful she took us next door to st chads and pointed us in the right direction to our room which was a sea view though the room was dated it was clean we unpacked and went back next door to lyndene for evening meal which was very nice after that we decided to have a early night so back we went next door to the chad which is a big hotel and empty at the time with only us and about 3 other couples staying there .as we got to our room there was a dog barking in the room right next to us give it 5 mins i said it will stop barking which it did i got into bed and my partner decided to run a bath but could not because the cold water tap did not work she decided to get a shower instead i said we will report it to reception in morning and mention the dog as well having by this time spent 20 mins in bed i started to itch having getting out of bed and pulling the blankets back to me and my partners horror the bed was crawling with fleas we were past ourselves we got ready my partner went to lyndene reception to get some one i just stood at the end of the bed gobsmacked after 10 mins my partner returned to say there was no one available as she was on her own and could not leave reception and asked why it as took us so long to complain ( oh sorry lyndene for not going to bed after we checked in at 4pm ) after ringing her boss we were given a full refund all i can say is lyndene if this happened in your hotel would you not go and see what a serious complaint we had .after all we were your guests

myself and my husband have just returned from another stay at the lyndene and we had a great time. we have been going to the lyndene for the last 10 years because my mum and dad used to stay here when we were younger and loved it.
Every time we stay we have a great time and wouldnt stay anywhere else in blackpool.
The meals are lovely as are the staff. The rooms are bright and airy and we always have a double with a seaview and its nice to sit and relax looking at the promenade in a compfy chair. The bad reviews are in my opinion given from people that could never be satisfied. Please go andmake up your own mind. You wont be dissapointed and the entertainment at night is second to none...

This is the sixth time we have stayed at the Lyndene and it gets better every time we visit .
We are a couple in our late forties and were very unsure the first time we visited as were told it was for oldies, well there are a lot of older folk there but we had a great time from start to finish. So this time we asked our 22 yr old daughter to come as we were going for our wedding anniversary so we booked a sea view room it was lovely it had two double beds in it ,we had loads of space,The hotel has been refurbished since our last visit .Everything about this hotel is spot on reception staff are great,There are two restaurants ,we have used Washington restaurant each time we have stayed as we always try to book same room which is good as well.Food is very good lots of variety ,choice of cereals, good English breakfast and evening meal is very good its a five course,The entertainment in the hotel is first class they have dancing and bingo on in the afternoon then they have 3 or 4 artists on at night with another game of bingo and they have two lounges so your sure to see the artists as they do both rooms. The staff in this hotel always make you welcome which is one of the main reasons we go,The staff also do a lot for a local charity called Donnas Dream House its for sick children ,They made there own Cd which we bought and its very good. Our daughter said what a lovely friendly hotel you cant go wrong here. All in all the Lyndene is a very busy first class hotel right on the seafront in Blackpool and we would recommend it to anyone, we are booked for October again.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms are the bigger rooms .

Having read tons of reviews on this hotel, we were looking forward to our stay. Wish i hadn't bothered! Having stayed there, I can’t believe some of the reviews. Everybody must expect better then this hotel provides. This review is mine and my wifes honest opinion, believe me, there is better then this in Blackpool

The good…

The entertainment was spot on, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the acts.
The location is also just where you would want to be.
The reception staffs were friendly and efficient at all times.
Car park outside the hotel

The bad…

Our Sea view room was old and really shabby. Wall paper was falling off the walls, the room stank of cigarette smoke everytime we entered, the smell must have been in the carpet and curtains, and the room needs a full make over.

The price of drinks is way too expensive.

The standard of food is very poor. We were staying bed, breakfast and evening meal and after the first evening meal, we didn’t bother again! The food was really basic and lacked any sort of imagination and was tasteless. I would never recommend an evening meal. The breakfast was just ok.

I guess you get what you pay for, we’ll not be returning!!

I was not going to bother commenting on your review of our hotel, you say the room smelt of cigarette smoke, and yet you occupied that room for 3 days and didn't make a comment to any member of the reception staff.
I the proprietor and my family who run the hotel with me are all non smokers, we have purchased expensive machines that take the smell of smoke away if any member of the bedroom staff say that a room smells of smoke.
Myself and 99% of non smokers reading this review would not under any circumstances stay in a room for 3 days like you have just described.
All our rooms are tastefully decorated, we have just had our annual inspection from Visit Britain, and they have again given us a glowing report.
You say that your evening dinner was tasteless, we serve over 300 roast dinners daily, with many compliments, we find it disappointing that you both found this to be tasteless.
You say that the bar prices are expensive, House doubles £2.00, Pinot Gregio Red or White on the wine list price at £12.50, selling and advertised all round the hotel at only £5.00 per bottle, we have lager at only £2.40 a pint, and 99% of readers reading this review would find these bar prices very cheap for this standard of hotel.
I would like to let the people reading this review know what you were offered for breakfast, a buffet style self service or you could of chose a waiter service, unlimited amout of fruit juice, unlimited amount of cereals of a wide variety, and unlimited amount of toast, Jams, Marmalade, there is an unlimited amount of fruit, like prunes, fruit salad etc, and then brought to your table by one of our 14 waiting on staff, you recieve a full English breakfast with unlimited Tea or Coffee. This is a cost to you of only £2.50 + V.A.T., not the £28.00-£45.00 charge in a 4 or 5 star hotel for the same food and service. May i remind the readers of this review of your comments "Breakfast ok"
You say that you dont want to return to the Lyndene......No comment.

We stayed at this fantastic hotel five years ago with my teenage son and his friend and recently went back with my in-laws. We wasn’t sure if it would still be as good but it is even better with a top to bottom refurbishment and of course the ideal location never changes. The staff, cleanliness, service, food and entertainment were simply fantastic, worth a lot more than what the hotel charges. I don’t know how they do it but please keep it up, it will not be five years before we return again!!

Well done the Lyndene, see you again soon.
