we have just come back from a weekend in Blackpool staying at this hotel and whilst it was a great location and very reasonable there would be just one thing i would recommend if staying in this hotel and that would be to ask for a room at the back of hotel and not at the front as it is extremely noisy with traffic and folk leaving the bars nearby in the early hours of the morning apart from that very reasonable

The hotel is well decorated and clean. The rooms are comfy and warm. The food is very good and on a par with a hotel in Tenerife last winter and paid four times as much for. It is central for theatres and shops and the evening meal is extended over early eating for theatre or late eating if staying into watch an excellent caber a. A long happy hour takes care of early evening drinks. I have just books for a four day break in February.

We are a family of four and have just returned from a fantastic stay at the Grand Metropole.
We came to Blackpool as our daughter was dancing in the AAD awards at The Winter Gardens, We found the hotel to be an excellent place to stay! We had a family room which was clean, comfortable, warm and spacious with a lovely bathroom including bath. The hotel public areas are beautiful and opulent, the dining room spacious and the buffet breakfast fab! The staff are friendly, welcoming and genuine! The hotel in a fab location within walking distance to most popular places. We could honestly not fault this hotel and after staying in numerous hotels in Blackpool previously we will definitely be booking to stay here next November for the awards again! Thank you for a great stay!! Xxxx

I went with a group of 50 from our over 50s club.I had a single room,paid extra for the pleasure. I found the springs protruding through the matress,so I reported it to reception,they immediately gave me another room,which was a double room,bliss! It was clean and warm,although the heating broke down on our last day there,but it was sorted in no time,these things happen ,even at home!
The food was good,the only gripe being our tea slot was at 5pm,a bit early,but we accepted that being a big group.One other thing,they play bingo twice in the evening,at 8pm then again at 10pm,this spoilt the evening a bit,because they put on a great show at 8:45-9pm,after this people got fed up and tended to drift off before the 10pm bingo:-(.The entertainment was good ,bar staff pleasant and helpful.Really they could do with somebody to collect the empty glasses,a member of our group did this to help them out,which wasn't a problem.
Overall it was a good 4 days stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on the corner had frosted windows and you couldn't see out,this was up on the 3rd floor.Bu...

We stayed at the metropole in a double room in november, although it was very cold the room was lovely, warm and very comfy with plenty of space to move about. Our only complaint would be that the bathroom was quite small.
The dinning room was very well organised and we were pleased to see there was plenty of room without everyone being on top of each other and the staff in there were very friendly.
We could moan and say the decor needs up dating but at the end of the day all that matters is that the food was very good and the bed was clean and comfy and thats exactly what we got. Val and Dave.

on arrival we were given the keys to room 308. went up in lift to find aroom that stunk of smoke with ash trays in it. when we complained we told the entire 3rd floor was a smoking floor & they would send a tin of fresh air spray up. i complained again & after going down to reception to see manager another room was found on lower ground floor (no lifts & im disabled) we had a look, it was clean but the corrider was wet & stunk of sewage. The smell got worse during the stay & staff had to come & clean the floor as liquid appeared to be rising through the floor tiles. Bar staff cant cope, managers dont seem interested in running of hotel or customer satisfaction. Food edible but not good, Dining room needs organisation & management to cope with volume of guests (waits of up to 45 miutes for food) Could be a Magnificent hotel if it had motivated trained staff & abucket load of TLC

nov 8 to nov 11 reported the room very cold will always remember that room 156 still no one came they said they would turn heating up Friday then Saturday same cold then sunday said we wanted money back manager looked in book to see when it had been reported no one had so manager sunday night checked room she found it was frezzing gave them a different room on last night the staff cant cope with the drinks bar them behind bar didn't no what beers went in what glassesfood was good
