Lovely friendly couple, happy to sit & chat when able. Decently furnished rooms but thanks to the sun shining didn't spend too long in it. Great price for central Blackpool, 5 minutes from the front, cheap parking at weekends 2 streets away in council car park half the price to private car parks. Tasty breakfast eat as much as you want. Only downside for us was being woken up twice with stag/hen parties returning very early in the morning, as we were on the ground floor & had to listen to them argue over who had the key & when they couldn't find it they though our room was where the owners lived so decided to knock on our door. Will definitely go back x

Disgusting smell in the room, later to find a leak from the ceiling and the bed was saturated! i was then told there was no other room and all the owner could do was change the bedding and move the bed!

Feathers H, Owner at The Feathers, responded to this review, June 9, 2013
Dear Mr Oliver,

Thank you for your review of our hotel. We take any comments seriously however we feel the need to respond to your review.

Due to the unavoidable problem with the water coming from the ceiling which we later discovered was due to an under floor pipe leaking which was a small amount of water but as all our beds have mattresses protectors fitted the water spread to give the impression of a large wet area.

I offered to change the bedding but this suggestion was not acceptable for you because you claimed you were worried that the ceiling would fall in, (BTW it didn’t) I offered to remove the single bed from the room (which was not needed as we allocated a triple room for you at the price of a double room) so I could move the double bed to the other side of the room which was also not good enough because you then claimed there was a smell which was strange because you did not mention any signs of smells when you arrived even though you claimed that the bed must have been wet for many days, so this theory does not stack up!

Your suggestion of swapping rooms with mine and my partners room was rather absurd to say the least.

Early on Sunday morning after refunding your money and you left, my partner, maintenance man and a guest were asked if they could smell anything in the room that you occupied. None of them could smell anything.

We had new guests arrive on Sunday who occupied the room for six nights and did not say anything about any unpleasant smells in the room.

Therefore all I can think is due to having drinks thrown over you in the nightclub as you mentioned, then perhaps that was what you could smell.

Or as the other guest suggested, perhaps you thought you should just check out to save money and drive home as it was 4.00am when you eventually left, after discussing this issue with you and your friend for over one hour.

Regards,

Phil

The current owners were very warm, friendly & welcoming to us. They are working extremely hard to bring this hotel up to their high standards, they only took it over last July and are doing very well. The location was brilliant for us as we had tickets to see Alfie Boe @ Winter Gardens. Kat did a superb breakfast, one of the best we have had, so for the price total value for money.

Room Tip: Try not to have room 5 if you are a light sleeper as you are by the entrance door of the landing and...
