“Great stay at this hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 3 little granddaughters. We arrived mid morning too early to check in but Andrew let us leave our luggage and gave us the key for our room and off we went to the water park . The room was clean &comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and filled you up for the day ahead. The location is great for all the attractions. Andrew works very hard to make your stay a pleasant one and couldn't do enough for us giving us extra milk for our tea extra towels ect. On the morning we were checking out it was raining and we weren't going home till later that day so Andrew said we could stay in the tv lounge at the lodge . when we went to collect our luggage later I was in need of a cup of tea while we waited for our taxi we asked if we could buy one but Andrew wouldn't hear of it and although he was busy he made us a lovely refreshing pot of tea for free thanks for that it was much appreciated. hopefully we will be back again our granddaughters can't wait

Room Tip: we stayed in room 8 one of the family rooms it is at the top

I recently stayed here with family, we booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 children and a single room. On arrival we were given a warm welcome by Andrew and quickly shown to our rooms. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spotless. The bathroom was small but ample for our needs, plenty towels provided. Free wifi throughout which the kids loved as they could play on their IPads.

The hotel is close to the south pier and pleasure beach.

The breakfast in the morning was beautiful, we had cereal on the table then we were offered toast and a selection of cooked breakfasts.

Once we had made the journey back home to Scotland we realised my young cousin left her IPhone in the hotel, I phoned next morning and was glad to be told it had been found and would be posted back to us, I would like to say thanks again for sending it back my cousin was delighted.

In the future I would gladly stay at this hotel again and hope to be returning very soon.

This must be our 10th visit now to this hotel, this time bringing kids ages 13, 11 and 7. As always we were greeted with a friendly smile and nothing is ever too much trouble for Andrew & David. breakfasts are out of this world, just what we needed before a day at Pleasure Beach which is 2 minutes walk away!.
We have already booked in for October and we are bring our parents with us too this time!

I have read one review on here saying negative things about this hotel and all I can say is they must have been in the wrong hotel!!. Just look at the reviews, they speak for themselves!!

Also try the new Danescourt Lodge 2 doors down, another hotel run to the same high standard as the Danescourt!

Well done Andrew and David!

Get booked in and have a a wonderful stay in Blackpool!

After searching hotel booking sites for a room for3adults we booked this hotel. Confirmation from website=“a room for 3adults”yet no further info re:check-in etc was given. We tried multiple times to phone the hotel directly on the number given yet no answer.Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted by a notice to say don't ring the bell as the owners were too busy to let us in&to return later. When we returned we were met by1of the owners Andrew who immediately said we couldn't stay there because he didn't have rooms for3adults. He only has "families&couples. Not people like..."(as there were families around with small children we did not ask him what was meant by that statement).Cutting a very long&repetitive story short,we were accused of trying to book a family room to deceive&save costs. He said they had‘never had any issues in7yrs with hotels.com until you came here’.After options were discussed&us saying we would eat breakfast elsewhere rather than pay an extra£7,the owner walked off in a very unprofessional manner, leaving us to follow&wait20minutes for him.He then cancelled the booking before we had even checked in despite us having nowhere else to go.Words cant describe how we felt.We are3young professional women who only wanted a quiet night in before going to the pleasure beach in the morning. It was a genuine mistake made by the booking agent yet we were embarrassed, stereotyped and accused in front of other guests.Unprofessional, childish and rude.Do NOT stay here.
