“Great Hotel,Great VALUE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

Just spent the weekend at The Cliffs Hotel. From our arrival we were very pleased with the attentive and helpfull staff on reception. A swift checking in that is well organised.
Our room was modern, very nice furnishings, spotless clean, comfy beds, plenty of room (we had a room for 3)
the bathroom was really clean with nice white fluffy towels, powerful shower and bath.
the television had all the channels with great receiption and we had wi-fi.
plenty of drawers and wardrobe space
as it was a little chilly, we appreciated the heating that was on.
the dining room was well run and the food exceptional
plenty of choicen for breakfast and evening meal, and cooked and presented very nicely.
the waiters were really friendly and work so hard to please
The leisure facilities are great at this hotel, nice pool and jacuzzi and sauna
The entertainment was really good to. We had a liverpool comedian and a lady singer on the saturday night. They were both very very good.
All in all, the best blackpool weekend we have had so far. Having stayed at other hotels, we will always now go back to The Cliffs, as it is without doubt the best.
Well done choice hotels The Cliffs is excellent.

Having read some of the reviews before I went I was full of trepidation. Having just returned I can only think that these reviewers made a mistake and were talking about a different hotel. The welcome and processing by the receptionists was friendly and very efficient. They were also very helpful throughout our stay. The hotel was fully booked which probably speaks volumes. There were many families, but I was never aware of loads of children creating havoc. The quality of food was excellent and served by really helpful staff. The speed of service, even at breakfast where everything was cooked fresh was amazing. We had two small grandchildren in our party and they didn't have time to get bored at the table. The rooms were very nice and averything was clean. Free wi-fi is a definite bonus for me. All in all I cannot recommend the Cliffs highly enough

Room Tip: We were on the first floor at the top of the stairs with a seaview. The view would be better one flo...

As usual food was excellent, rooms were spotless.
Entertainment was very good, even thou on the downside, the prices at the bar, were very expensive. An happy hour would have been nice :) Staff in the hotel thru out were very helpful and friendly. Weather was awful but, no need to venture out in the evenings as the entertainment room was a great place to relax.

Room Tip: Pay for a sea view if you can afford it, If you are part of a family with separate rooms ask for sam...

been to the cliffs for too many years to remember, we are in our 70s (just) and very mobile thankfully, the cliffs offer everything that we look for in a hotel, we read with interest some of the reviews made by passed visitors, we dont think they have been to the same hotel, reckon some folk are just too hard to please, must add we are no push over where quality is concerned but the facilities that choice offer by far surpass any hotels we have tried in blackpool. (and we have tried some in our time). From the reservation telephone to the mangement service staff, to the food and entertainment and pleasure activities, its our kind of hotel, never had a problem with the restraunt staff if they can help you then they do, we always ask for the same waiter and service area ,never a problem, we have been to the hotel 3 times this year and we are back again November so this should speak volumes. if there has to be a downside then its the bar prices far too expensive, folk are correct about the smokers blocking the egress of the hotel but only the ignorant usually abuse this, the car park comments are justified its a small park and hard to get a place without subjecting your vehicle and contents to a side street, thats if you can get parked down them?

Room Tip: any on the third level will deaden the sound of the caberet late evening

If you want somewhere in Blackpool that isn't too loud and full of stag/hen night party goers then this is a great hotel to chose. Situated about 1 mile north of the tower it a perfect location. The rooms are clean and spacious, the food was good, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the night time entertainment seemed very popular altough we never stayed for that. The hotel also has a leisure facility with a small gym, pool, jaccussi and spa and you can also enjoy a makeover as well. My wife had a pedisure which she was over the moon with. Right outside the hotel is a tram stop and we found the best thing to do was to buy a day ticket which allows you to travel on the trams and busses free all day as many times as you like. Thats a great way f travelling into the centre of Blackpool as its a bit of a trek if you want to walk. The hotel also has great sea views and we were lucky to have a first floor room with a view. It was great to open the curtains in the morning and have such a beautiful view.
Overall, this was a great choice for a weekend stay in Blackpool. A fair price and you got exactly what you paid for.
The only negative for me was the lack of car parking space. I parked up in a side street on the first night and worried about the security of my car so i ended up paying £12 to park it in a car park for 48 hours. Having said that, this hotels car parking space problem is probably no different than the rest of the hotles in Blackpool especially the ones on the sea front.
All in all a great weekend and we will probably return. Thanks for a great weekend

Room Tip: Buy a day ticket for the tram and use it as much as possible. Loads better than walking or driving

Been staying here on and off last ten years but this year the waiter service was not good. Also my partner is vegetarian and there is only ever one main meal choice go to doric and lots of choices. Also smoking at the entrance is a no no puts you off as you go in reeking of smoke. We will carry on going to Doric great staff food and service. Plus entertainment same every time we come and a nice comfy seating area during the day with open bar rather than the cafe bar.

stayed at cliffs since early 80s, allways get a good deal with full board. very clean and most rooms refurbed to a good standard. superb 1930s building with great staff and lots to do. one of the best things about cliffs is they dont overcharge when busy, i got the last room avialable and paid what i expected.

Room Tip: just ask for a refurbed room away from lifts
