“Absolutely Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2008

My husband, two young children and I stayed at the Norwood following a recommendation from a friend. We found the hosts most welcoming after a long drive up from Cornwall with 2 little terrors in the car! The family room we stayed in was clean, warm, quiet and well decorated. We wanted to make the most of our holiday and so asked Geoff and Lorraine to recommend attractions for us to visit as a family group. They were both very knowledgable about the surrounding area and tailored their advice to us as a young family rather than give out the usual flurry of leaflets we've been handed before at other places. As a result we packed in lots of great activities and tried places that we would have not considered before which all added to the overall enjoyment of our break. Breakfast was plentiful and of an excellent standard, best we've had in a hotel in a long time. Geoff is clearly an early bird as he entertained all the guests whilst serving breakfasts and helped to join the guests together in conversation so as the holiday wore on it was like dining with friends every morning, not just people we had only just met. As we put the children to bed with happy faces and tired little legs, we joined Geoff, Lorraine and some of the other guests in their lounge bar on several evenings. They were great fun and full of stories but also very good listeners as I think everyone was so relaxed they all ended up telling their life stories!! No matter how late we went off to bed, we were welcomed again warmly with the children in the morning. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to The Norwood if you are thinking of heading to Blackpool anytime soon. Best testament to the place and the owners is the high volume of regularly returning guests that they have, always a good sign! I'm happy to go on record saying that we will join their long list and know that we will be welcomed back with a smile.

We have just returned from Blackpool, there were 7 of us( all adults) We found the Hotel on the internet, watched a clip about the Hotel liked it and booked it. We arrived at The Norwood 35 Hull Road near the Tower, we met the owner's Geoff & Lorraine Hodson for the first time, who are a lovely couple, very warm, friendly, and welcoming, it was more like staying at a friends house. The Hotel was nice and clean, the Bedrooms were well equipped with a Safe, clean Towels and Bedding, Hair dryer, Tea & Coffee facilities, Biscuits, Shampoo, etc and a well lit dressing table for putting make-up on Ladies! and Thermostats on the radiators so you can adjust them to suit yourself. We booked B&B which was a the normal Orange, Cereal, Toast, Tea, Coffee, then a Fry up which I have to add was FAB! All 7 of us had a GRRREAT time, and all of us will be going back!!! Finally nothing was to much trouble, and GOOD rates for the rooms.
Sincerely
Sheila & Alan Colclough.

My partner and myself stayed at the Norwood, our room was lovely, clean and perfect for our stay.
Geoff and Lorraine are very friendly and make you feel so welcome. We enjoyed drinks in the bar in the evening and a delicious cooked breakfast in the morning!
The Norwood is prefectly situated, just a short walk from the main shopping area and entertainment.
We would recommend The Norwood to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Blackpool, who are not there for stag/hen weekends.

The Norwood was excellent!!
The owners are very friendly, the whole hotel is very very nice and clean and modern. It looks like it has all been renovated recently.
The shower is big, plenty of space to move around, and white suite, very clean.
The breakfast was very nice also. Orange juice and tea/coffee. Cereal, fruit, toast, full english or combination of a fry up.
It is close to the central car park and its it just up the street from Coral Island and round the corner from Mcdonalds and shops.
Less than 10 minute walk to the tower.
One unexpected big cost was the car park. Central car park for 72 hours was about £17.

We would definatly go back!!

We stayed in a family room 2 adults and one 13 year old.
I saw the hotel on GMTV back in July and knew it was the ideal hotel for us. It is central to all the attractions the Tower, Louis Tussards and for me the shops.
From the time we spoke on the phone to make the booking, to the time we walked through the door to the time we left Geoff and Lorraine made our stay very enjoyable.
In the room they had kindly left sweets which I loved although I think they were meant for my daughter.
The breakfasts were fab none of this cheap cereals in a bowl or a cheap pastic jug but in small boxes and branded names Quality.. Caffetiers of coffee
We had to leave a day early as I had a hospital appointment and they were very accomodating.
A fab time had by all and we hope to go back in the summer

i stayed in the Norwood for four nights with my wife and our two daughters aged 3 and 9. We booked the family suite and as soon as we entered it we knew we had chosen the right hotel. It was spotless, warm and beautifuly decorated. There were free sweets for the children and lovely biscuits to go with the assorted tea, coffee and many other hot drinks on the drinks tray. As for the bed! Well, we wanted to take it with us! The children loved their own adjoining room with their own tv and bunk beds. Breakfast was fantastic and set us all up for the blustery seafront. It was October! Geoff and Lorraine who own and run this wonderful little hotel are a lovely couple and they went a long way too making this a wonderful holiday for me and my family.
