Dined here with a party of 8 - mainly because we were staying in the hotel for the evening. Wish we hadn't bothered. Service was awful; food was terrible - some dishes just lukewarm (microwave problem?) some dishes frazzled and inedible. House wine was dreadful, tasted like economy supermarket brand - but at £15 a caraffe!! Now don't you just love it when staff ask you 'is everything ok?' and when you tell them it clearly isn't, they don't do anything about it.
What puzzles me is this: This restaurant is situated in one of the town's premier hotels, I'm sure that De Vere Management occasionally take a peek at TA's ratings?? Are they happy with what's happening in their restaurant, or do they have sufficient captive audience in their hotel that they don't have to bother trying to improve?
