We were greeted warm and friendly by Paula who asked us how our journey was and offered us refreshments upon arrival which was lovely. Paula then showed us to our room which was a double ensuite room with sea view. The sea view was amazing. The room had tea/coffee facilities with fresh white towels, the shower was nice and hot and the room was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and efficient throughout the stay and they suggested things to see and do. The breakfast was nice and was served with a smile. The hotel is a good price for a few nights away in Blackpool and it will be nice to see the look of the hotel after its be renovated :-) thank you

Ok, so my boyfriend and I recently stayed here for one night. We were greeted by very friendly staff and offered a drink which we accepted gratefully (we were still cold and soggy from a ride on Valhalla).
We were given our keys and offered the choice of breakfast in the morning. It was stressed to us about keeping the doors shut and locked but that is fair enough, it's very windy outside and don't want any riffraff wandering into the building!
We were shown up to our double room with en suite which admittedly was up in the gods but the sea view was lovely!
Ok so the rooms are basic and the 'door' to the en suite wasn't technically a fully functioning door but the room was spotless and for the small price we paid we didn't expect 5*! We had tea/coffee making facilities, a tv and fresh towels. It was extremely windy overnight so the extractor fan in the shower made a hell of a racket (whistling in the wind) but we're deep sleepers and the hotel isn't to blame for bad weather!
The staff couldn't do more for us, advising us on restaurants to attend and even calling them and booking us a table! The drinks in the lounge/bar were cheap and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful! We could have our breakfast anytime the next day and it was great!
All in all, this place is exactly what you'd expect for a cheap stay. The building is fab (even though its in the middle of being restored) and the staff were great!
Thanks guys!

I was absolutely disgusted at the one and only night I stayed at this hotel. The manager was slightly scary also found her a little rude and sarcastic. Omg we booked a family room which was actually two rooms situated in the basement (never again). It was a room with just beds, literally. There was no store cupboards, no bins, no curtains, no side lights, no coffee or tea facility, no television, no seaview. The worst of it was the fact that it was also dangerous I went with young children yet their beds were an inch away from the full blast central heating that was on, I had to move the bed!!! The floorboards from upstairs were creaking all night I ended up waking up at 6am which is not what I expected on a break.....would I recommend? No especially not for families...would I go again? Most likely not!!!!

We would really welcome the chance to speak to you, by email or phone, to answer all your questions about what type of room is best for your needs and to offer you a direct booking discount. I would not.recommend this hotel to anyone. Waste of money. Very outdated and was told was getting restored which I did not believe as there was no progress in months according to reviews. Pictures ate very mis leading. Staff were ok to arrive. However turned sour once credit card details were taken. Charged for damages which were not made and when contacting the hotel to find out what had gone on they decided to change their story each time. I would love a hotel inspector to go to this hotel as definitely would be shut down. Horrendous night and rude aggressive staff. DO NOT BOTHER, WASTE OF MONEY

Our licensed, outdoor terrace is provided for the benefit of smokers. For the respect and comfort of all guests, to meet fire regulations and health laws, smoking inside the hotel is not permitted and carries a penalty. Guests read and sign their acceptance of this rule on arrival. Revenge reviews from those who do not respect others are soon found here on tripadvisor.

Stayed here for a weekend with a group of friends. Was slightly dubious after seeing recent reviews but to be honest, I can't see what everyone is complaining about. Yes it may be slightly dated but they are currently restoring the property to its former glory and are trying to renovate the original decor. The rooms I agree are compact, but were spotlessly clean with tea and coffee facilities as well as a TV/DVD player. The staff couldn't do enough for us and basically waited on us hand and foot all weekend. Nothing was too much trouble and they were lovely people.

Just a tip regarding the hot water, turn the dial the opposite way and it will be fine. This confused a few of us, trust me! if you can get a sea view room, I would recommend doing so purely for the view. Would I stay here with my kids? Probably not purely based on the size of the rooms but for groups, hens/stags, couples it's fine. Right in the middle of the prom, 15 mins walk to the pleasure beach, 10 minutes to the town centre. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

We arrived just as Blackpool's Marthon was going on. We had been going round in circles before deciding to go to the south pier until it was over. When we arrived at the lodge we were greeted by Kim who was lovely and offered us Tea/Coffee. Thinking we would have tea/coffee in the room we politely refused.

We were shown to our rooms which were in the basement,no sea views for us then!! There were 2 rooms one with 3 beds the other with 4 beds. The stairs to the basement were uneven and caused a few problems with balance.

The material used for the duvets was lovely and soft on the other hand none of them co-ordinated with each other. The rooms had been recently renovated but had no storage, no tea or coffee factilies, no lamps and no tv. The rooms were however really clean and the en-suite was tidy and clean too. En-suite is on outside of rooms and only used by us.
We soon left the room as there was nothing to entertain the children with, and went to explore blackpool.

We came back and tried to go to bed but if you turned the lights out you were in complete darkness, we had to leave light on in one of the rooms as the kids are used to having a lamp on to fall asleep. We went to ask for a lamp for the other room and eventually fell asleep. At around 6am was woken by daylight coming through the door that led to the stairs outside. At that time a curtain would of been helpful. Having tried to go sleep again was soon woken by creaking floorboards and footsteps above. Decided to get up, and start packing stuff away. We left at check-out time again Kim came to say good-bye and was offered discount to stay there in future.

Kim you were lovely, overall enjoyed our stay. The few minor touches you could have in rooms are storage space, lamps, tea and coffee facilites, We understand there is no signal for tv downstairs but maybe you could have a tv and a dvd player. So that we could bring our own dvds or borrow dvds of you.

In short. the room was nothing like the pictures shown on the internet. No storage space, hardly any room at all. En Suite was tiny and not clean at all. No hot water or heating and was offered the communal bathroom!!! Rooms were so thin you could hear everything going on in adjoining rooms including every bathroom visit. The 'lounge/bar/dining room' was shabby and unwelcoming, and although work was being done the noise was continuous till late evening, none of this was advised at time of booking. I paid £119 for 3 nights (breakfast NOT included) for my daughter and myself, worse money I've spent in a long time and spoilt our Easter break,
