“Fantastic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Blackpool Zoo is a fantastic zoo. It contains a large variety of animals from across the globe and has scale, realistic models of dinosaurs on a permanent basis. It isn't far from central Blackpool and has a variety of shops and resturaunts within it.

“It really was gorillas in the mist!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Had a lovely walk round on a very misty Saturday morning. The new wolf ridge is great. Also being able to through the kangaroos is good. The penguin feeding talk was very interesting and being dive bombed by the seagulls just added to the fun. The keepers and staff were all chatty and friendly for a cold january morning.

“Beautiful Place To Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I have always loved Blackpool Zoo, but now, with a mortage etc to pay it's quite a treat to go, so the last time we went (August 2012) was on one of the nicest days of the year. My boyfriend brought us tickets to go for my birthday and we had a wonderful time. It's fantastic to see the new Penguin and Sealion Enclosures and I loved the talk we got with the Penquins and the show at the Sealion House. The Zoo facilities are clean, and the staff are always helpful, as quite often I get lost there and need directions for the toilet! The cafe is lovely though admittidly, we only use it for a drink and a snack as we take our own lunch, but I can recommend the cream scones they have on sale there! As we don't have children we haven't brought anything in the gift shops but have browsed and the items are typical of what you'd expect. Teddy bears in various shapes and sizes and clothing, toys and plastic animals that kids love. One thing I did notice is they sell reigns for children so if you've forgotten your own and need to keep control of your child, you can purchase them there. Its a brilliant day out for all the family and if your lucky enough to go on a sunny, warm day then it's a great place to make memories.
