Booked to stay here for three nights, two nights using tesco clubcard couchers and one night with reward nights ( had two seperate bookings) and this seemed to confuse reception staff who didnt quite get that I was staying three nights with two bookings! Nevermind hotel has large free carpark which is good and tram stop is opposite and takes about 45 minutes to walk to central peir. Sea front views as windows are angled so all rooms can see the sea. Rooms clean, large and comfortable.

Restraunt is overprices and buffet hasnt got that great of choice, staff seem to not care much about their job. Was charged over what I had been given for dinner, ended up another tables drinks were added to my bill (and Im still waiting for my refund as promised 19 months down the line).

Entertainment was good as had a live band on and was very busy. Wouldnt rush back but overall was fine.

Did get upgraded to a club room, but unsure what the difference was compared to normal room as friends had s standard room and their was no difference??

“Great Value Hotel”

Hilton Blackpool

Apr 20, 2008

We have just got back from a saturday night stay here in Blackpool Hilton and contrary to other reviews, it was great value and we would recomend ot to any family.

We were in a very generous family room where we all stayed in the double bed as it was like 2 doubles together, so we did not need the sofabed (although it was extremely comfortable as a seat I'm sure it would have been superb as a bed), which was put down for us by the staff. The room was spotless and warm and very quiet with no noise at all and there was a wedding in the hotel, so it was busy. The staff were very helpful and always spoke.

In the morning we went for the best hotel breakfast I have ever had and I have had some in my time, but this was fantastic. As a Scotsman I was surpirsed to find haggis there on the cooked breakfast hot plate as I thought it was only done in Scotland but it was great! There was everything the healthy person could wish for and for those of you who, like me dont worry about your waistline, then there was everything unhealthy that you could imagine. We did not eat again untill 6 o'clock that night!!!
The difference between the room on its own and B&B was only £10 so all that breakfast for roughly £3 each was stunning value!

The location was North of the tower but a tram stop was just outside so transport was fine and parking was fre to guests so all in all a great place to stay and I would go back again. We would recomed this hotel for families anytime!!!

“Hilton a Disgrace”

Overpriced and a disgrace to the chain. I've enjoyed many a Hilton stay in my time and this has to rank as an all time worst. My bedroom was, at best, adequate. The lovely looking king sized bed was one of the hardest and most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in. The decor was basic, the curtains were hanging off the rail and the bathroom was tiny. Just to clarify, I stayed in a "deluxe" room. Add to this the quite dismissive dining room staff and the dirty glassware on the table at breakfast, all in all, an absolute disgrace of a hotel. Perhaps the Hilton think that being "blackpool" doesn't mean that they necessarily need to afford any kind of decent service. All that being said, the cost of stayihng at this hotel and the bar prices, do not reflect value for money. I have been coming to Blackpool for 40 years and as "big" hotels go, this is the worst I have stayed in. Please, please give this hotel a miss and stay in the Big Blue or the De Vere Heron's Reach (okay, out of town, but worth it for a better hotel).

“Be very aware”

Hilton Blackpool

During a recent stay at this hotel, despite high expectations from the only major brand name in Blackpool, I was to say the least disappointed. From other reviews here, it seems I am not alone.

The following should be borne in mind :

Noise : From neighbouring rooms is intolerable - there is no soundproofing between the guestrooms either horizontally or vertically. It is literally possible to hear every word spoken in anything above a hushed tone. This is wholly unacceptable both in terms of disturbance and privacy and if for no other reason this hotel should genuinely be avoided. Almost constant noise at night, from other guests and particularly children in corridors, doors being slammed, vehicles, heating, water pipes, the list could go on. Large parties and weddings are common, according to the staff. I can only imagine how much worse this would make the experience here.

Smoke : The non smoking room I was allocated smelled strongly of smoke as did the corridors. The hotel was apparently full when I asked to be moved. The regular rooms are very small indeed and showing their twenty plus years of age. I was advised that the refurbished rooms are better furnished with refitted bathrooms but no other significant enhancements. The public areas on the ground floor are clean, relatively new and in the usual Hilton style.

Food : The buffet style restaurant provides a reasonable if uninspiring selection of standard items. The cold meats and salad self serving area had insects around and upon it, and was therefore not sampled. The bar area was pleasant but in common with Hilton properties excessively overpriced.

Location : Walking distance to the nearest (North) pier is about fifteen minutes and it is a very long walk to the central and South pier tourist areas. There are no attractions, pubs or restaurants evident or publicised in the immediate area surrounding the hotel. Taxis are easily and quickly available, priced at around $20 to the main tourist areas at peak time.

Unfortunately there is nothing especially positive to say about this Hilton, which is a pity since there are so few substantial hotels in Blackpool. Frankly, the Big Blue at the South end of the Promenade is in a different class - virtually new, clean, usually cheaper, better located, with Premier Inn style rooms and superior dining opportunities. Given the choice, go there instead.

“Sweet Suite”

Having stayed before we did know what to expect but this time we stayed for 2 nights in the Buttermere Suite on the 7th floor and from check in to check out we had a great time. The suite contained a small lounge with leather settee and TV (not flat screen) a separate dining area with a table with four chairs all very modern beech and leather. The shower room was clean a little on the small side but fine and we didn't actually use it. The bedroom was lovely a massive 6ft bed beautifully dressed and then a separate dressing area with the ensuite leading off that this room was hugh with separate shower, bath toilet and bidet.
We ate in the promanade restaurant and although carvary isn't my favourite the choice was excellent for starters, mains and sweets. Breakfast again was great with so much choice there really was something for everyone.
Overall it was a hit. Even the bar prices which are very expensive wouldn't put us off. The magician who came doing small tricks in the afternoon was a nice touch. I didn't really rate the singers in the evening but thats personal choice. The bar area did get busy so get your seats early or you've no chance.
