“sad face”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

I went two weekends ago. My room was very clean, but other members of my party claimed theirs were not up to scratch. The food was very poor and actually made me feel quite ill during the night. The evening entertainment cabaret was very poor, as was the dj who followed. What was most irritating was their lack of organisation. Our party was a group of 30-40, every single key card had been incorrectly set, so when we all went to our rooms to check in (which we were not allowed to do until 3:30 after arriving at 1230?) none of them worked so we had to collect them all back in and have them reset. They continued to be faulty throughout the duration of the stay so people had to keep getting them reset. The hotel is also laid out badly, they need a small map, more lifts and better signposting to each suite. My bed was really hard too barely slept a wink. Its miles from the centre of blackpool.

Room Tip: if you want to pay next to nothing for your package holiday, coach, food etc then expect what you pa...

over all for what you pay it was ok food was good bedroom was clean but we had a cracked sink room was warm, bedding clean but warn, the quilt cover didn't fit the quilt also had an ajoining door with a wardrobe in front. there was a swimming pool , cinama , games room, ball room , plenty of seating to please all ie bar, quite seating , hotel bar, corridors overlooking the sea with armchairs we didn't have a problem with lift never had to wait more than a few mins even on checking out day. The only big minus point was on day of departure to find out there was a suspected out break of norovirus which could explain the amount of ambulances we saw having a room overlooking the main enterance was at least two or three a day would have been good to have been told so could have taken extra care. I think some people expect top hotels having paid only £150 each for five day tour including bed breakfast evening meal transport and trip daily you will need to pay a lot more if you expect five star accommadition

This hotel was booked before reading reviews and I was dreading it! In my
Opinion yeah the hotel could prob do with bit update here and there, but to be honest with three kids and fun in mind, the hotels decor was not our top priority, blackpool is Blackpool, and get what you pay for, the first opinion of the hotel was the heat, it was so warm and welcoming, our room was huge, clean and inviting, so I suppose I was lucky compared to others, the staff were very helpful, breakfast was super, on asking my 3 and 10 and 15 year old their thoughts on it, they thought it was "class" bed was immaculate and so was towels, bathroom dated but very clean, to be honest I really feel a lot of these reviews previous are very very exagerated, Blackpool is for going out and having fun fun fun not sitting examining a hotel!,!, get out there

Room Tip: Upgrade for a huge family room, a double bed and three singles and a huge comfy leather couch with t...

I stayed in this hotel 16 years ago & Im afraid to say it still looks exactly the same!! Time has stood still in there, along with the dirt.It was bad enough then!
20 minute wait to check-in, entering the room & walking in the bathroom it stank of urine, vile!!
The "double bed" was actually 2 singles pushed together & the springs were popping out!!
When we got in bed the sheets felt damp, it was disgusting! Had to sleep with towels on the bed & lie on them.
The noise from other rooms was unbearable, u could hear people having conversations, & even weeing on the loo!!!
The room doors banged very loudly every-time they shut.
Think I had an hour sleep on the first night because of the racket going on.
Breakfast the next morning was horrendous!! Queueing for 20 mins 2 get some food that was pants. Butlins has nothing on this place!!!
This "hotel" in the loosest form of the word makes Fawlty Towers look like The Hilton!!
It needs tearing down or a massive amount of money refurbishing it. It needs pulling kicking & screaming into the year 2012!!
Bytheway it was full of coffin dodgers & smelt like my nans house when she had been cooking cabbage!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Always go on trip advisor before u book anywhere as we didnt!!! Dont go here unless you like dirt...

i am just back from this hotel and it is the worst hotel i have ever been to the rooms were way below average and food was horrid! when we arrived at this hotel we were informed that they were over booked and were to get moved to another hotel wish i had done that now! also they advised me they had phoned me to tell me it was overbooked but i was on my way when i get home the only message i had was people talking in the back ground then hanging up! dont waste your money go somewhere else! i also got a premier room which was discounted i would not have wanted to see the standard room.

This was a last minute decision to stay in the norbrrck castle and after living in blackpool for many years and returning there after moving away we thought it would be a nice change to stay on in a hotel on the front just across from the sea.. We got to the hotel reception which was not very presentable, the staff were not very helpful and when we asked if there was any food available i was given a local take away menu.. We couldnt even get anything to eat and it was only about 10pm we went up to the room in the very small dodgy lift, the room was at the top of the hotel.. The halls to the room stunk of cigarettes and when we were walking to the room the heat was unbearable, it made us feel sick, the room was a long walk away from the lift and stairs, god knows what would happen in the case of a fire.
The room was very small with a double bed with dirty sheets, there was a large cupboard which overfilled the room the window looked out onto a load of metal and what appeared to be the kitchen and all we could hear was the roar of the heating it was boiling hot and smelt musty, the room was filthy and when we went into the bathroom it was even worse there were hairs in shower and the toilet was not clean .. It felt as though i would get ill if i touched anything:( i tried to open the window but i was only able to open it about an inch ..what a joke!
The skirting board was half missing and so dirty, the wallpaper was falling off in the corners and the paper was dirty.
The breakfast looked ok but the heat was overbearing so did not stay long enough to comment fully but overall we both felt disgusted in this hotel and it would have been better for us to have slept on the promenade at least there we would have been able to breath some fresh air,
To anyone reading this review i would not reccomend this hotel and would give it a 0/10 it was awful and i will be taking up a complaint to health and safety.
