“The All Inclusive Scandal!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2012

My hubby and I stayed here from 6th - 8th January, we had been looking forward to an inexpensive break after all the expenses over the Christmas period. Being advertised as a FREE three hour bar each evening we thought our spending would be of a minimum, wrong, the free bar was withdrawn and four vouchers per person issued. My husband went to the manager to complain and was fobbed off with the explanation that "new legislation had been introduced, therefore the hotel could no longer offer a free bar", rubbish, we found out that it was the hotel group themselves that had made the decision. I can only say that there were a lot of unhappy and disappointed people, their weekend being ruined. We certainly will never return.

Just returned from 3 day break with National Holidays. As mentioned in other reviews the free bar was not available which caused an understandable amount of discontent from all the people who were sold the holiday to include it. I think the best way to deal with this is to put it in writing to the tour company and see what there response is.We were given a voucher for 4 drinks per person per night.
The hotel itself was what was expected having read the numerous other reviews. In need of decorating and updating. Our room was acceptable overall, with sufficent clean towels and plenty of hot water. The bed was quite lumpy. We were on the fourth floor at the back and the room was warm with no heating on ( maybe because we were over the kitchens).
The food was fine and all that we expected for the very low price we payed (£76. per person).
Both the tribute bands, Beatles and Abba were excellent and there was a good atmosphere in the entertainment room and a chance to have a dance. Also the singing and dancing group were good on both nights. There was the usual game of bingo but many enjoyed it and it did not last for long.
Reception and bar staff pleasent as were the dining room staff.
Overall we could have no complaints for the money we payed and would return. We primarily went for the entertainment as we like 60/70s music.

Arrived at this hotel 8 January 2012 and stayed one night we were informed on arrival by guests that were going home that the 3 hour free bar (we had paid for) was no longer available. We then asked a member of staff who confirmed this. I have just checked the hotel website at 6pm on 10 January and they are still advertising a free bar !!!!

last year we went to norbeck castle with national hollidays, abba and cheatles weekend and for £79 it was great, value for money, rooms clean, food was good and the 3hr free bar was great, thats what made the trip. so we took our friends this year, ho dear, got of bus, was told no free bar, bouncers all over the place, must have been expecting a o.a.p. uprising. the staff didnt smile, didnt have time for any one, they looked as sick has the hundreds of guests. to be fair it wasnt nat hollidays fault, norbeck castel took it upon themselves to stop the free bar. we had booked for the following weekend but cancelled and got a full, yes full refund, as for abba weekend we will all have to wait and see , but there should be lots of complaints going in this week. our weekend was ruined, so i wouldnt give the norbeck the time of day , go stay at a small happy hotel. p.s. if the norbeck put the 3hr bar back on we still wouldnt return ever, they just couldnt give a ....t

Room Tip: dont bother find a nice hotel where people smile and talk to you..

Just come back from the norbreck hotel at blackpool beware it is advertised as a 3 hour free bar. Got my room keys and info only to find that there is no longer a free bar. They only gave us 4 tokens for drinks. It is discusting we did not get what we paid for. They have also said it will be happening to there other hotels we went with nationals but other coach companys are the same. How can a holiday company and hotel take a booking for a 3 hour bar then tell people you cannot have what you have paid for. I have just got back today 9th january . I complained to the hotel manager who gave stupid excuses and told me to get in touch with the coach company i booked with so i will be getting in touch with nationals to sort this matter out.
