We went to this hotel as part of a Stag weekend and for that reason it is, erm, OK. I wouldn't go with my partner or family though as a holiday hotel. Hen and Stag parties would find this good though as it is cheap. It is however basic, looks like it needs alot of TLC, is dusty, slightly damp smelling and cramped. The rooms are small with alot of beds. We had four of us in a room slightly smaller than the average bedroom, with 2 single beds and a bunk. There was a TV that we didn't use but it was getting on a bit. The dresser, wardrobe and en suite/bathroom were handy though. The beds were basic but comfortable enough - 1 pillow and a duvet. The duvet itself was stained and the handrails of the bed covered in chocolate. The steps to the bed were not fastened on and fell off occasionally. The curtains were too small and the window did not shut. There was however an ageing lock on the door. The carpet was dry but stained.
The bar was just what you would expect but the drinks were reasonably priced. The service was excellent and often there would be a 24 hr bar, particularly on the busier nights. The staff were extremely friendly. The bar has a pool table and alot of seating.
The dining room was tidy, cosy and comfortable. The breakfast was tasty but lacking in size, though you did get alot of toast, tea and orange juice - fair play.
Location is very near to sea front, in a sidestreet just off Central Pier. There is a large car park next door to the hotel which is handy.
Overall it was OK for what we wanted as a Stag party. We were only in bed for 3 hours each night so couldn't really comment but you wouldn't stay here with your family or partner - its not that kind of place.
