“Lovely stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013 via mobile

After a disastrous day at the brownes. The owners rescued us and found us room to stay. The b+b is on a nice quite road. It is a nice peaceful hotel the owners were very welcoming. the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and breakfast was good. We would stay again!

Very pleased with the Fern Royd. The service was excellent and Michael is the font of all knowledge for events in Blackpool.
Situated about 30m minutes walk from The Tower which suited us just fine. Slept well on all 3 nights with no disturbance from any rowdies inside or out!
Several of the other guests were on return visits. Both family and mother/daughter.
Breakfast was great.
Thoroughly enjoyed...Minutes from the Prom.
Many thanks

just back from a short break at the Fernroyd hotel and will defo be going back its in a great location a very short stroll to the sea and trams the food was great and me being a fussy eater was no problem Michael was more than happy to substitute items that I didn't care for...... the hotel is spotless and room 11 which I stayed in has double aspect windows so you get good circulation of air, also on the ground floor is a wonderful bedroom with its own little sitting room ideal if you fancy a night in ....all in all this is a hidden gem in blackpool and I would recommend it to anyone .........

Room Tip: room 11 or 1

Michael was the perfect host, and very helpful after our tour operator had booked us into a absolute dump of a hotel up the road. Michael went out of his way to make us welcome and even transported us from our original hotel with cases and back on our day of departure. The room provided was homely and bright with views of the tower and the sea. the facilities were spot on and breakfast was freshly cooked to order each morning. We also took the opportunity to have a evening meal during our stay which was excellent value and quality. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we visit Blackpool. Places like this are rare to find in this day and age.

Room Tip: The corner suite is large and sunny.

At the fernroyd we were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was freshly cooked and presented well, with good choice. Evening meal good, only had one as we don't really do evening meal, but would recommend it. Michael knew all about events etc in Blackpool and was very helpful. Very quiet in hotel at night.

Room Tip: The room we had was spacious and sunny very quiet. Very clean and comfortable on the first floor...

This place is a budget hotel but it is comfortable , clean and safe.
I must say Blackpool isnt really my ideal holiday destination (its quite grim to be honest ! ) but
Michael is a lovely guy and the breakfast is freshly cooked and I can't fault it.
The room I had was single room and it was cosy . It wasn't plush but it was adequate and functional .
The complaints I would have are the bathroom was tiny and the shower was very weak and varied between hot and cold , and the location is ok , its about 15-20 minute walk to the centre so its not that bad and the tram is a couple of minute walk.
But if you are staying in Blackpool and are looking for a cheap place then id recommend !

Our daughter found this hotel for us which she ended up feeling really bad about.... It was more like a guest house! We came to the Uk for a 16 day vacation to visit family but after 8 days here we checked out and found somewhere else to stay...
The owner Michael was too over friendly, his wife Margaret i saw twice just in passing... When we arrived we were shown to our room....The tower and sea view that was advertised was being able to see them in the far distance as long as it was a clear day! There was no bar and we were told that we were more than welcome to bring our own drinks and they would gladly provide the ice, we were given 5 pieces of ice when we asked so gave up on that 1!..The wi-fi didn't work in our room as the signal wasn't strong enough. The bathroom had body hair on the floor, not belonging to us as we'd only just arrived! When this was mentioned when we left we were told his wife only thoroughly cleans rooms when guests leave, work that one out! We had no bath mat so we had to put a towel on the floor for 2 days until we finally got 1... There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room, 1 of the teaspoons had green on it, after 3 days we finally got another 1 when my daughter asked for it to be replaced... The full breakfast was very disappointing... The final straw was having to sleep in our car after a night out as the hotel door was deadlocked!... The positive note was that we got our money back for the days remaining but it impacted the rest of our stay in the UK.
