“Great stay at a wonderful and friendly hotel that was well worth the money.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

We stayed at the Derby hotel in September 2012 and found it a wonderfully pleasant experience, with very clean rooms , well set out, with plentiful stock of tea and coffee. Ivan and Tim were wonderful hosts and the breakfast was something to behold, with everything and anything you could want. A return visit for our family is must. Thanks to both.

Stayed there in August with family and friends. Ivan was very helpgul as we had an unexpected exta guest that needed to stay with us. Ivan obliged which was most helpful. The room we had was a large room with a sea view and was plenty big enough for 4 adults. Location of hotel was good as the main 'strip' was a ten minute walk. The breakfast was delicious (just what was needed!!) and Ivan was a great host. A great value hotel with a warm and friendly welcome.

I came across the Derby Hotel by accident when I was coming down from Scotland to watch football. Been there twice now. It's absolutely top notch, everything a hotel should be! Very friendly welcome from Ivan and Tim, room spotless and the biggest and best breakfast I've ever had in any hotel. I felt at home from the minute I walked in and will certainly be back. Can't recommend it highly enough.

What can we say.... FANTASTIC from start to finish. Three of us went including me, my mum and sister over the Easter weekend. We stayed over Sunday night for 20 pounds including breakfast. We were made to feel very welcome by Ivan and Tim. The rooms were spotless and having a flatscreen T.V was a bonus, the picture quality was faultless. We booked in for an evening three course meal, which was priced at 6.95, absolutely well worth the money, All the cooking was done by Tim and it was amazing. Ivan was always on hand, We certainly didnt need any supper.
The entertainment at night in the downstairs bar was brilliant, We were in stitches at the comedian, Barry Mcqueens jokes and one point he was playing the bagpipes.
The breakfast was plentiful with about 10 different choices.
We will definetly be returning and would 100 percent, recommend this hotel.

We stayed for a last minute weekend to take the family to see the illuminations, and visit the pleasure beach in September 2011. Our family en-suite room was made up by a double bed and 2 singles, with plenty of space to move around the beds.
Nice large room, very clean. Comfy double bed. (Kids said thier beds were a little bit lumpy, but they felt ok to me!)
Excellent large breakfast with plenty of choice.
Ivan the owner is always on hand and very friendly.

I needed to book a room that was close to The Hilton and The Imperial Hotel and so came across this guest house, after reading a review on how close it is. It is situated exactly between the two hotels - perfect! I only booked a basic single room (and so can't comment on the general condition of other rooms). The room was value for money as the toilets were situated outside the room, communal showers to be used and the walls are thin. However, I got value for money plus more. The hotel has got double glazed windows, the room had a new flat screen TV, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was one of the best ones I had and Ivan was very friendly and welcoming (even when I only arrived at 9PM) and so thank you for a very good stay.
