Because my wife and I had to be in Blackpool during week commencing 14th August 2011 and owing to the fact that my wife loves to eat good quality seafood and fish, Blackpool seemed to be an obvious place to look for a suitable restaurant.
After quite an in depth search on the internet we where continually finding ourselves being re-pointed back to "The Seafood & Steak Restaurant in Bond St, Blackpool. What do we do but ring up, have a chat about the menu etc and make a reservation.
Upon arrival we where greeted with being told that there will be a delay, this was due to the fact that there was only one chef and one receptionist/waitress on duty. There where already 16 people seated and a further 6 followed us immediately.
For a starter we ordered a seafood plateau for two. Upon arrival we were told we had been given extra salad as they had run out of some of the necesary seafood.
The main courses arrived and my wife's was cold. We sent it back, we are pretty certain it was only re-warmed. Oh yes additional veg was given.
We thought it can't get any worse so we'll have a look at the desert menu and decided to order. Upon arrival the waitress leaned over to my wife and said "I won't charge you for this as it only a small piece, you've guessed it, they had run out!!!
No tea's or coffee's offered so I asked for the bill. When the bill was presented, I placed my credit card on the saucer and the waitress said, sorry we don't take credit cards. Immediately the waitress apologised for not having told me when we booked and I even commented about there being no signs on display.
At this point the waitress told be that there was a bank a few hundred yards down the road.
We made a joke of the situation whilst other people watched and I went to acquire the funds.
I returned and settled the bill. I did not give them a tip.
We will not be returning nor will we be recommending it to anyone.
