“Cottage Fish and Chips Bank holiday in Blackpool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Blackpool busy, sunny Bank Holiday. Couple of drinks sitting in the sunshine followed with great fish and chips at the Cottage. Good choice of various fish, Plaice, Halibut, Cod or Haddock. Cottage special, Large fish, chips, mushy peas, tea, bread and butter £8.95. Lovely crisp light batter on the large, chunky, white fish, good portion of chips etc all freshly cooked and served by lovely, friendly staff.
There were plenty of people eating in this small cafe style restaurant as well as people in the takeaway shop attached. There is plenty of choice on the menu including different sizes of fish for individual appetites Large and small.
Although the Cottage is not in the heart of Blackpool it's reputation makes people seek it out. There are pictures on the walls of various famous artists who have eaten this great British Dish in the Cottage. One of the best and well worth a visit.

“Good fish and chips.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

We had a takeaway from here. The fish was fresh and tasty, light batter. Delicious chips and good mushy peas. The only down side was the fish could have been left to rest for a little longer so it wasn't as greasy.
Fed a family of 4 with drinks for under £20

“Poor service, average food”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2012 via mobile

Me and a friend ate here the other day. The food was average, the service was shocking! I was expected to eat a pie with a fish knife, had to ask for a suitable knife. Didn't have the sauce I requested, instead they just gave me ketchup....they could have told me. At the end of the meal we was asked to leave as they needed the table for people queuing at the door.....I was still chewing my last mouthful and hadn't even finished my drink. Avoid at all costs!
