“Weekend with Friends”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2012

I went to Saxton House with 2 of my friends last weekend. We were looking for somewhere cheep & close to local hotspots. There’s an arcade across one road, McDonalds across the other. The beach is a 10min walk and the shopping centre is less than 5mins. We ended up going on a massive shopping spree, dropping our bags off half way through the day because the hotel was just so close.

The staff were friendly & catered for our needs. The rooms weren’t 5 star, but comfortable & tidy. For the price we were paying, a bargain.

Room Tip: Wouldn’t advise for family’s but great for weekends away.

I stayed here for a few days last summer, with a few friends. Seeing as we were students, we wanted somewhere cheap yet close to the beach. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. We all loved the food served at the cafe, especially the full english breakfast. The bar downstairs was amazing and it was great to go down before a night out.
The hotel is very close to the beach, which was great and there was also a McDonalds directly opposite. On the weekends, it did get a litte noisy, but that is really to be expected.
We are already planning another trip to Blackpool this summer, and will definitely be staying at the Saxton House again! :)

This hotel was booked for a stag weekend and it was disgusting! the showers were held together by a tesco carrier bag, the doorsdidn't even shut or lock properly, there was filth everywhere - including human nails, clumps of hair and false eyelashes in the beds!!! It was so bad - that I daren't sleep under the duvet!
I read the reviews and thought that some sounded ok so we'd chance it.... DON'T! It's the worse place I've ever stayed and I've stayed in some right dives!
It was so bad that my wife had to fumigate my luggage when i got home. Avoid.

After reading some of the reviews we were hesitant about booking, but at the price for £20 with breakfast we decided to book.
Staff were very friendly. The room was dated but clean. Beds were comfy, and the bathroom was cleaned regularly. The breakfast was great; lunch and dinner was available from the attached cafe, reasonable prices. Our family found it comfortable and the kids were happy as it was close to the arcade. Recommended, expect what you pay for.

We stayed for a weekend with the girls, the hotel was the 1st one we spotted and saw the rooms before booking. Basic clean room for a good price. Staff were fab and catered for our needs, bar downstairs was brill for pre-drinks and breakfast was worth it. Will be returning.

this hotel is shocking DO NOT GO it needs closing down. we didnt expect much as we had read the bad reviws about this dive but was prepared to put up with most things cos it was just a drinking weekend. 1 thing we never expected was the bed bugs, they were massive and just crawling everywhere. i didnt relise that they were so big. it was impossable to sleep because they were everywhere. the hot water was non existant and at 1 point there was no water at all. we told them about the bugs and when we went out tthey aparentley went in r room and hoovered all the matresses. they must have disturbed them even more. this hotel is a disgusting slum and must be a health hazard. all our luggage has had to be left outside so everything can be boiled washed. yo wouldnt believe how bad is it unless you saw it with your own eyes.
