i have read the other reviews on here, and i cant beleive they are talking about the same place, i love it, in a brochure it states there is electricity meters so u expect it wen u go, it also states towels are not provided so u know to take ur own,

i have stayed there since i was 5 years old and i go about 2 - 3 times per year, i go with my fiancee and we have a really good time, love the rooms and love pool and bar,

i have always found the staff really helpfull and the entertainment really enjoyable. i get drunk in the bar, havent experienced any problems, the walls are thin so you can hear loud drunk in the room next door but thats what people are ther for if you cant beat them join them thats what i say,

love the jacuzzi,

the place is brilliant no matter who you are, my mam used to take me and my brothers and auntys and cousins when we were young and we all loved it, i have been comin for the past 6 years with my partner who also loves it, i think its great for familys, couples, singles and anyone who wants a good time and not expect the ritz when not paying rizt prices

Well from the front the place looks very clean and presentable located down the road from the south pier and close to the pleasure beach....then you walk in and thats where the fun starts!! When entering the main entrance we couldn't find any signs telling you where reception is, eventually a woman opened a door and came out, when we told her the name the room was booked under there was a muddle with the bookings and she politely told the other receptionist 'put them in ++room and we'll sort it later', when the 2nd lady said there was no key!! Eventually we were given a room key and we headed of down a dull, smelly corridor in search for our room, when we eventually heaved the luggage up the stairs and arrived outside our room we realised that we had the wrong key and still couldnt access the room, my boyfriend went to reception only to be told we had been given the front door key and no room key!! we also had been put on the middle floor and fair enough we hadn't requested a ground floor room but for us to turn up having been in the confusion of mixed rooms the receptionists noticed i am pregnant! And for no offer of help or no lift being 8month pregnant i am hardly in the state to heaved luggage up a floor!!
Anyway when we finally entered the room the interlocking door between our room and next door was wide open, the other room wasnt occupied but it was a worry for the safety of our belongings whenever we were out! But to add to the misery the t.v was practically hung from the ceiling and from where the bed was positioned we couldn't watch it without changing the room around, the remote didn't work, the shower was either too hot or too cold, the curtain rail and curtains fell down, there was a hole in the wall, wall paper ripped, no shelf seperating the draw in the bottom of the wardrobe from the rest of it...also the room itself wasn't exactly the cleanest!! to top it off on the 2nd morning of our stay we were woken up by the drunken neighbours coming in from a drunken night out..at 4.45am!! we put up with the noise for a while hoping it would die down but by 6am it hadn't so my boyfriend decided to go and report it to the night porter, he didnt do anything about it and he had told 1 of the girls from next door that we had complained which made it worse! it was worrying as i dint wish to leave the room to walk past a big gang of drunken teenagers in my condition once they had been told it was us! on checking out i reported it to the gentleman on the desk and he never offered an apology, he just told us we have the address if we wish to write in and complain which we are definately going to do!! anything could of happened to us there and no-one took an interest!! i stongly advise you stay away from this place...otherwise you'll go home with a book full of complaints too!!!!! What a nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Utterly Grim”

Grand Hotel Holiday Flats

May 22, 2008

Dirty windows, broken furniture, a painted carpet and drunken rowing from the other inmates. There's no towels and you have to buy a card for the electricity. It's way more benefit hostel than "Grand Hotel".

There's nothing good to say about it... well the rooms are very big, I suppose that's something.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — Big room
