“Superb value, friendly and well presented!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

We have just returned from a fantastic weekend break at Wheatlands Lodge, and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the stay.
Its location is ideal, just off the main road so nice and quiet but close enough to plenty of shops, pubs, restaurants and the Lake.
We (two couples) booked two rooms, one on the ground floor with an en-suite bathroom with a shower and the other on the first floor with an en-suite bathroom with a bath. Both rooms and all communal areas were finished to an extremely high standard with recent redecoration.
The owners Richard and Yvonne were very friendly, in fact it just felt like we were staying in an extension to their home. We were made to feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble and we really appreciated the special little touches. We will certainly visit again, hopefully sooner rather than later.
Thank you both for your hospitality it was much appreciated by us all, but especially the 50 year old on his big day !!!!

AS soon as you turn into the courtyard of Wheatlands Lodge down a quiet lane you just know its going to be Fabulous. The attention to detail on the outside just follows you right on into the house. Richard and Yvonne are no strangers to hospitality and it shows in everything they do. No corperate banter here , rather friends greeting friends. The whole house is welcoming , beautiful and homely. We had the lovely room 8. WOW. We saw other rooms which were also lovely, these two just cant help but make things nice. And so it was to breakfast after serious relaxing . Elegant dinning, with home made goodies setting you up nicely for the day. Any help needed to plan your day is readily given with thought and a smile. This b and b (does that stand for better and best in this house) has a brilliant location. Turn left out of the courtyard you come into the village, with its wonderful eating places (try MO Jos) . turn right you wander down a delightful lane towards the Lake. All in all a first class experience in every way. Well done Richard and Yvonne .Wheatlands Lodge is the standard all b and bs should aspire too. We WILL return if we can get in. Thankyou.

Room Tip: Just loved room 8 , huge bathroom, large front facing bedroom.

We spent two night in luxury with delicious breakfasts in the morning. The owners were very helpful with a personal touch. It is tucked away on a small street, but easy to walk to the center of town. We ate at Hooked which was less than a block away and was excellent food.

This B&B is really lovely. The location is perfect for touring the Lakes, short walk from restaurants shops and pubs in Windermere and for driving it is ideally situated being central so it easy to tour western and northern lakes. Our room was decorated to a high standard. It was immaculate and really cosy and comfortable. The bed was so deliciously comfy it was really hard to get up. The bathroom is possibly the nicest ever, massive with two wash basins, great shower, and deep bath very modern and lovely toiletries. The breakfast was just great. Home made bread, jams muesli etc. The quality of ingredients served is faultless. As for service Richard was there on the step to welcome us and made us lovely coffee on arrival even blowing the snow of our car on departure. Richard and Yvonne are friendly and welcoming hosts, but not over the top. I highly recommend Wheatlands if you prefer to pay a little more for excellence.

We stayed at Wheatlands Lodge for 2 nights in February and we have not got a bad word to say about this B&B! We received a warm welcome upon our arrival complete with a fresh brew and biscuits. The room was lovely and warm and the breakfasts were, without a doubt, the best full english brekkies weve ever had! Location was fantastic and the free parking a bonus. Will certainly be recommending Wheatlands to our friends and family. Mr and Mrs Stead.
