“Good and comfortable with an excellent breakfast.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2012

We booked through Laterooms and so got a better deal than on their website. We had the top suite (Langdale) which was brilliant. A large loft conversion with a large jacuzzi bath as well as a shower. Very comfortable bed and enough storage for all our walking gear.

Breakfast each morning was excellent, freshly cooked to order and of good quality. There are guide books to look at or borrow too.

Parking is a bit hit and miss - try to arrive before 5 to guarantee a spot on the road outside. A 5 minute stroll to the restaurants and pubs of Ambleside, so it's in a good, quiet location too.

Room Tip: Go for the Langdale suite. Large and comfy, though it is up 2 flights of stairs.

We stayed at the annisgarth for 2 nights in the langdale room. It had everything you needed and more. The bathroom has a spa bath and a walk in shower, both of which were excellent. The room itself was cosy, homely and very comfortable. After a long days walk we returned to our room to find a couple of scones and a ferrero Roche each, just what we needed. Breakfast was also fantastic, a brilliant range to choose from. Bernie and Danny's attention to detail really makes the stay an unforgettable one.

Have recently returned from a two night break staying at the Annisgarth Bed and Breakfast, and can say with total honesty, it was perfect. Annisgarth provides all you could want and more from a bed and breakfast.
We stayed in the Langdale Suite at the top of the house, which is a stunning little room. Beautifully decorated, comfiest bed ever, with a gorgeou bathroom, with jacuzzi bath and walk in shower.
Bernie and Danny can not do enough to make the stay more enjoyable and pleasant for guests, they are friendly, warm and welcoming, catering for the needs of their guests perfectly.
Breakfast is delicious, and plentiful, with cereals, fresh fruit and homemade bread toast which is heavenly.
The little extras, like home-made cake on arrival, chocolates on check out, and the beautiful room upgrade option (which is a complete bargain at £40 for a decanter of port, sparkling wine, fresh fruit, strawberries, fresh flowers and handmade chocolates) make a very special place even more special. Thank you for a wonderful stay Bernie and Danny, we will see you soon

Room Tip: The Langdale Suite is stunning

My partner brought me here for a late birthday weekend, it's a great place, bernie is a lovely lady who makes lovely cakes and the little extras of chocolates on the pillows or on the bed make it all the more special. The attention to detail she provides is A**. The room (the langdale suite) is gorgeous, cosy and warm the jacuzzi bath is great after a good walk, breakfast and the choice is also fantastic, overall a truely wonderful fantasic place and would definelty stay again :-)

We have just spent an excellent New Year at the Annisgarth & had a wonderful experience. The Langdale Suite was beautiful with its large bedroom & en-suite bathroom that included a Jacuzzi bath & candles...perfect. A 10 minute stroll to all the nightlife & lake front it was the ideal location. Will certainly return at some point in the future.

Room Tip: As much as the Langdale Suite is beautiful, if you are a light sleeper & the weather is inclemen...
