As a means of keeping warm and dry on a snowy and cold day in March, we made for Lakeland to see what changes had been made since my last visit 17 years ago!
I was very impressed. An inviting arena for exploring the many and varied items on sale. A good cafe, with a helpful individual paging system to let you know when a lunch table was free. Comfortable seating to use whilst waiting for a lunch table, or for parking a husband whilst browsing the shopping area.
Most useful on that particular day was their provision of two small computers with internet access, which we, and others, were using to check the weather and traffic updates!
Best of all, I was visiting a friend in London the following day, who is mad keen about Lakeland products, but had somehow failed to grasp that Lakeland actually has a 'proper' store and that, oddly enough, it is in the Lake District! I was able to sing Lakeland's praises to her, before heading for the north and home.
