For someone who is a bit of a whoos when it comes to heights and scary theme park rides etc, I was a little apprehensive to say the least when my boyfriend announced that he had booked us on some 'Ghyll Scrambling' during our recent stay in the Lake District ! I need not have worried - Craig, our instructor, immediately put us all at ease with his friendly and relaxed nature ! We donned our wet suits and the rest of our gear and headed off on a ten/fifteen minute walk up to the start. The water wasn't as cold as I imagined it would be, (or it could have been the adrenalin keeping me warm !! lol) but after the initial shock of entering the water, we really didn't have time to think about the temperature. Craig explained each challenge as we went along, whether it be a jump, a slide or a belly flop into the water, and didn't put us under any pressure to take part in ones we weren't comfortable doing, however, I wasn't going to be upstaged by the girls (14 and 11 years) and thought it would be a good idea if I lead by example - something I wish I hadn't suggested as I was teetering on the edge of a 8ft drop, trying to pluck up the courage to jump !! I did eventually jump and when I surfaced, I was beaming and laughing with the exhilaration !! All to soon, we reached the bottom of the ghyll and the end. We had a 'team photo' and then walked back to our car to get changed.
All in all, we loved it ! Craig took some amazing photographs which he uploaded onto Facebook. Yes, you may be cold at time, yes, you may get the odd bump and knock but above all, you will have SO much fun. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and it was the highlight of our holiday, thank you so much Craig ! Jackie, Bruce, Catherine & Megan

I have just figured out how to respond to a review. Thank you so much for your feedback. I am overwhelmed by how much effort has gone into everyone's reviews and how nice everyone is being.
