Just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel (18th Feb-21st Feb), as a couple. Overall an excellent stay, beautiful room in a fabulous location. We stayed in the New Contempory Suite and paid £360 for three nights (bed and breakfast) the room was beautifully presented, clean and smelt nice. There are 2 windows in the main bedroom one large window and a smaller window, both of which reflect a lot of light. There is a jacuzzi bath which over looks the scenery of windermere from the large window and a steamroom/shower which is more than large enough for 2 people. both the steamroom and the jacuzzi bath have mood lighting above. In the room there is also an LED TV which has free veiw channels and the option of sky sports (free of charge) sometimes there are issues with reception (this is stipulated in the handbook) but we only experienced this difficulty once, an I-pod docking station, very large bathroom (which was always clean and came with molton brown soaps and handwashes etc.), a large double bed with comfy pillows and a big duvet (the beds were always made everyday and with a towel arrangement placed in the centre of the bed, all adding to the romantic feel) and a chic 2 seater sofa in the room which was more than big enough to accomodate 2 people.
The steamroom and Jacuzzi bath worked perfectly and really added to the relaxing feel that we wanted from this getaway. The baths aren't allowed to be used after 10:30pm till 8am since they produce slight noise that may disturb other residents. The only negative about our room was that the bed was rather uncomfortable to sleep in, and the noise from outside occassionally disturbed our sleep due to the passing traffic during the early hours of the morning.
On arrival we were greated by a lovely receptionist who was very attentitive and helpful, the lady showed us to our suite and then returned back downstairs, this I thought was nice as when you arrive at a hotel after a long journey you don't want to be fussed to greatly. The same lady helped us two days later when we were unsure about how to use the steamroom, rather than say the classic "Okay, I will come up later" she followed me up to the suite and sorted it straight away. The rest of the staff were very friendly and always made you feel welcomed, even if it was just a simple hello or goodbye as you were heading out.
The breakfast at this hotel was great, the dining area was well presented and had a modern yet romantic and classic feel. The food at breakfast was lovely, there is an option of full english or continental breakfast comprising of cereals, preserves and smoothies, juices and croissants etc. and a choice of prosecco, which is a nice touch as the hotel is mainly for couples for special occassions. Only criticism I would give the dining area would be that one of the tables was crammed into a corner (which my boyfriend and I had to sit at twice during breakfast as there was no where else to sit.)
This hotel is perfectly situated, it is close to the lake and the town centre which is great as the veiws are stunning, the town is beautiful and there is always somewhere where you can pop in to the get a drink or dine at one of windermeres fantastic restaurants, there really is something for everyone.
Apart from the noise from passing traffic that was occassionally sleep disturbing we both could honestly not fault the Hotel, the location and the staff at the windermere boutique. We had a perfect holiday and hope to return to the Windermere Boutigue hotel in the Summer.
