“Good value fantastic views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

Just returned from a great little gourmet break and we had the most relaxing time. We expected an inland view for the price but we got a lake view, two single pushed together but I would much rather of has the room than an inland room. The bathroom was brand new spotless.all the staff were so helpful, they work so hard and they never flap, just professional at all times, but always have the courtesy to speak to you with. The food was outstanding would return and recommend to anyone.
Pool was lovely to.

Room Tip: Ask for a refurb room

We have just returned from a lovely couple of nights at the Beech Hill. The views, the staff and the food really made this wonderful couple of days. Our classic room had been recently decorated and was pleasant, comfortable and clean. The food was excellent, a very wide choice for breakfast and the evening meals were delicious. The staff were helpful, polite and pleasant. My only slight gripe was that we could hear some noise from the neighbouring rooms, but this did not disturb our sleep. We will return.

Room Tip: A lake view room is a must!

Booked a 3 day break dinner, bed and breakfast, good value for money, great food and excellent service, just a pity about the slow service at dinner due to the number of people dining, but if there was nobody there then I would be concerned, definitely will go again, lovely scenery and a great place to relax by the pool and unwind.

Room Tip: Try and get a balcony room or a room on the top floor as the ceilings creak from people in the rooms...

Lovely hotel, very traditional not at all 'trendy'. Could probably do with some refurbishing but very comfortable, fixtures and fittings excellent quality and spotlessly clean (best bed and pillows ever away from home!!). Lovely bathroom with whirlpool bath! View over Lake from public rooms and our bedroom (45) fabulous. Breakfast excellent, staff efficient and very friendly. Would definitely stay here again. Bonus - indoor swimming pool and terraced gardens which would be lovely in summer months.

Room Tip: Anything with a lakeside view!! Don't know if any overlooked the main road which would be a prob...

We booked a Living Social deal £199 for 2 nights including 5 course meal on one night and breakfast both mornings. We paid a £10 upgrade for a Select room - absolutely immaculate , clearly had recently been renovated. Bedroom was smallish but perfect with gorgeous, stylish gold wallpaper and matching soft furnishings. The bathroom was spotless and newly and modernly tiled. The staff (mostly seemed to be polish) were amazing and literally could not do enough for you. We were made to feel so welcome with my friend (we went as 2 couples) with a birthday card from the hotel on arrival. The deal included a free bottle of fizz which was waiting for us in our room on ice with champagne glasses. We say outside on our veranda looking at the amazing views of the Lakes as we sipped champagne. The hotel is in an unbelievably sheltered spot so we managed a good 10 minutes before having to retreat in to the warmth ! The food on night 2 was amazing and I would heartedly recommend this hotel - I hope to go again....

Room Tip: go for a select rather that a select plus - barnd new !

Stayed 25th Jan 2013 for 2 nights for my partners birthday.
We had a premier lakeside room with ensuite. The view was superb, the room amazing - clean, fresh with a huge bed and very very comfy. We had booked our evening meal in the Burlingtons Restaurant which was delicious, the service excellent and very reasonably priced.
We will definately be returning.

Room Tip: Ask for a lakeside room, it is out of the way with amazing views - but be aware that there are 4 fli...

We stopped in room 80, over looking Lake Windermere and the snow capped mountains in the distance. The staff were all very friendly and made us feel welcome (although on one occasion things did get a little lost in translation). The evening food in the restaurant was first class and faultless as was the breakfast with its huge selection of food on offer (need to go on a diet now)
As with some of the other reviews it would have been nice to have a double bed instead of 2 singles pushed together but this is just a minor thing. The room itself was well decorated as was the bathroom. The water for the bath/shower could have done with being a bit hotter though.
I could pick faults but can't see the point as I pointed them out to the duty manager to save anybody else complaining about them in the future.
As a whole it was a lovely escape from the daily grind and would happily stay again.
