“Great food, good service, pleasant atmosphere.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2011

We ate here one Monday evening, after reading earlier reviews. (Mojos is open on Mondays when some other local restaurants aren't. ) The food isn't cordon bleu or innovative, if that's what you like, but it is well-cooked, reasonably priced and very tasty. We chose the 2-course menu for £12, which provides a starter and a main course. We both had the beef, mushroom and local ale cobbler, which was excellent, and were too full afterwards to want any dessert. I'd happily go back there sometime.

“Delicious food and excellent value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2011

We were on our first visit to Cumbria staying in Bowness on Windermere. Went in search of somewhere to eat and after sussing out the many eating places locally to where we were staying, we stumbled upon Mojos - what a lucky find and an absolute delight! Two courses for £12 from the set menu - the food was delicious and the service very good. Shame we didnt get a chance to eat there again as we were touring round. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal without paying pretentious prices!

“Very good restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2011

Having seen some good reviews on Tripadvisor we elected to go for dinner at Mojos. Have to say we weren't disappointed at all. Very friendly and efficient service, nice atmosphere and some fun music playing.

The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that I think the portion sizes could have been a tad more generous but this is really a minor point as most people would not be disappointed. The quality of the food made up for this though and we certainly ate enough.

For starters, we had a mozzarella and raspberry sauce salad + a prawns and smoked salmon starter. Both were very nice.

For mains, I had a baked seabass which was well cooked and my wife had the chicken Bang Bang (not really to my taste, but my wife enjoyed it). The mains came with a seperate serving of different mixed veg that we shared. They were definitely a welcome releif from the normal boiled veg efforts you get in most restaurants (the fried cauliflower fritters were very good) and a nice accompaniment to the mains.

We shared their famous sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was very nice - much lighter than others I've had.

“Friendly service -lovely food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2011

Went here after reading previous reviews, impressed, so much went back again later in our week, same standard and reception, would recommend to anyone. Quality of food and price very good, as some previous comments, we found eating out pricier than home for the same standard fair in the lakes !!
As we were in a quiet season, the place wasn't full, think they will need more staff in the summer as this place is going to get very busy at peak times, with locals and tourists alike.
Can only wish them all the best, in their venture, this is going to be a winner.
