“Lovely clean friendly guest house”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2014

We went here on a KGB 2 night deal, the guest house was spotless, very clean and smelt lovely.

We only met Chris & presumably his young daughter who was very friendly. He provided a quality breakfast on both days in a very clean dining room with spotless cutlery/crockery etc.

Excellent location, the train station is only up the street and over the road. Only a short walk into Bowness (just over a mile). I agree with a previous review, room 3 is a pain with it not being en-suite but I was warned of this on booking to be fair (we did wonder if this was the "deals" room. Also the ceiling is low & my boyfriend is 6' & did manage to bump his head (I may have contributed to that though). Free parking is only a short distance away which is pretty good for the middle of a town. There are some good restaurants in Windermere, its not a big place but lovely all the same & I would go back but if staying here would definitely have an en-suite room. You'd be hard pushed to find a spec of dust which is excellent plus a comfortable bed & free Wi-Fi.

Room Tip: Just make sure you aren't in room 3.

Guest house was very clean, the owners are very nice. Breakfast was lovely and filling. Good location. Only negatives is Room 3 is not en-suite and very low ceiling. Not a lot of parking in area during the day. But still would go back, as location was very good.

Booked in for 2 nights 14 and 15 February 2014. The guest house only has 4 rooms, Ours was room 3 which is an attic room with a wooden beam in the middle of it Half of the room is so low you have to bend down to move around or you would bang your head as the roof slants down. I'm only 5ft and I kept banging my head .In addition to staying in this room you also have an external w/c and shower, This would have been ok but the shower could do with replacing it was either too cold or boiling hot and I did burn my skin a little. I think the other 3 rooms would be ok. They did provide a good breakfast but was served between 8.30-9.30 which I think could be extended to at least 10am.The place was very clean.

Room Tip: Don't book in room 3

Thank you for letting us have the experience in spending 2 nights with you on a Groupon voucher. This is a really friendly guest house, and you are made to feel very welcome. The place has lovely decor and is spotlessly clean. The family room we stayed in was very comfortable and cosy. We had the chance to use the McDonald hotel, spa and pool facilities, which was very nice. The breakfast on both mornings was excellent, with full English or a big selection of other choices available, which there was something to suit everybody, also cereals, fruit, yogurt and juices and toast available. We would certainly like to stay here again and is highly recommended. Thank you.

This is a very clean and comfortable guest house in Windermere, It only has 4 rooms, but our room was room 4 which has en-suite facilities at the top of the house.
This is a great base for walking or sight seeing.
A nice cooked breakfast was waiting for us in the morning.
We made used of the free pass to the MacDonald's hotel leisure facilities which is on the edge of the lake in Bowness.
A nice welcome by the owners. Highly recommended to anyone that requires a comfy room for a mini break.

Stopped here for 5 days over the new year and it was a good location for going off walking or popping to the many local coffee shops. Only 2 mins walk to the train station and a brilliant restaurant / pub directly across the road.
We used the free pass for the spa about 20 minutes walk away near the lake at the Old England McDonald Hotel which was a very nice bonus!
The staff at the BnB were kind and polite and there was a good choice of breakfast each morning. Only downside was that the shower was tiny but with free spa pass it didn't really matter!

Booked a room here very last minute for a Saturday night impromptu trip.
The family room was pleasant, clean, with a nice en-suite and fitted 3 adults fine.
Owners were friendly and helpful, and all finished off with a good Full English and fresh coffee for breakfast.
